And no this is not on the wrong board.
Our surrogate was 16wks on Tuesday and her midwife appt went wonderfully! They were able to hear a strong heartbeat using the sonogram tool (bare with me here) which is a relief to us. We were able to hear the heartbeat the first time at 7wk4days but that was internal. The midwife wasn't able to get the heartbeat four weeks ago.
It's actually starting to sink in that we are going to have a baby of our own that doesn't have a set of parents working some case plan to get their child back. We have three foster kids right now to include a beautiful 11 month old baby boy. We would love to adopt him, but understand that is so far up in the air. It's really nice to have a baby of our own coming.

It surprises me how many ppl are "following my story" which is a nice feeling.
The girls have been with us for nearly 5 months. The boy is almost at 5wks with us. We told the girls very early on bc it was easier for everyone. They were at a celebration family was having for us and heard about the baby before they ran to go play. No worries. They are heading home soon...by Feb or March likely which is just before we go the 1300 miles to OK for our baby's birth.
