So... if you take the kids Trick or Treating, do you plan for someone to be at your house to hand out candy? Do you leave a bowl outside?

I go to the nearest homes while DH passes out candy so I don't have to walk a lot. Then we switch.

So... generally we go T-or-T with our neighbors. The 5 houses on the block with small children, we TorT the neighborhood together. Other than our houses, there are no other kids on our block. I typically leave a bowl outside that sits bearly touched. Dh is working this year, so I have no choice. When DH is off, I want his help in the TorT department, not at the house for no one to come.

not sure how to juggle taking DS ToT'ing, getting DD to sleep about 7:30 and handing out candy.

DH is on afternoon's so he is suppose to work, which leave me with this task.

He's hoping to get the day off (he's out of town and just getting home on halloween, so travel day should count as work...) And I'm either going to leave a bowl out for a half hour while I put dd to sleep. DH will sit with DS for a while and they can pass out candy (he is almost 3 and doesn't need to ToT for hours) or possibly my friend is coming over and she can pass out candy or get dd to bed.

Both DH and I wanted to take the kids TorT so last year we left a note on the door that said "Took the kids TorT. Be back soon". We didn't have anyone that could sit at our house and leaving a bowl outside is stupid. No one is going to just take one or two like they are supposed to.

We will do both - but, not hand out until after we are done TOTing w/ DD. We only expect her to make it to 2-3 houses...we'll be lucky if she keeps her costume on for that time as well!
