Your Old Toys

I was reading on the school aged children board and came across a thread about kids playing with their parents old toys. We have a collection of American Girl Dolls. It started with the three I had as a child that my mom saved for me. I had Kirsten, bought her with my own money collecting cans, Samantha, and Molly. I gave them to my stepdaughter. She went on to collect Felicity and Felicity's friend, can't think if the name. My stepdaughter has them in safe keeping to give to Audrey someday.

Will your LO have any of your old toys to play with?

    My daughter had the crib I made for my doll. It's from scrap wood that me and my dad built together. I'm eventually going to have her repaint it if she wants. As for my son, I wish I kept the original TMNT stuffed animals I had. But alas, I didn't. Hubs is already plotting making car and airplane models together lol.

    Sadly, the house I grew up in burned down and with it all my baby things. H has this bee he won when he won the spelling bee in Howell's room. MILhas toys from his childhood but she keeps them at her house for the grandkids to play with when they visit.

    Oh! That reminds me, my mom is refurbishing the doll crib her sister played with. Her sister passed away at age 12 and my Grandma had always kept it. When my Grandma passed last year my mom took it.

    DD has inherited my My Little Pony collection, I have the doll house my father built for me and I will pass on to her when she's old enough. She also has my cabbage patch doll and the cabbage patch knock-off that DH's grandmother made for him. 

    MIL is also bringing up a lot of DH's toys when she comes up at Christmas.  DD is the first grandchild for that side of the family and so she is getting everything the ILs have been saving. Her toybox is going to look like a museum from the early 80's :-)

    I wish! But now I'm gonna keep some of lo's toys for our future grandchildren!

    I have so many my old toys. I have my old doll houses, an Alf stuffy, I have some of my stuffies, mg ceramk fairies my mom made me, I have my baby bunting bag, my christening gown, clothes from when I was a baby. I couldnt wait to pass these all down to my kids
