DD has been smiling like crazy and cooing a lot. I said to DH this morning that I need to start putting this stuff in her baby book. So, I head downstairs and put her in the bouncy chair and turn on Sesame Street. DH walks in the room and says, "So, this is your parenting style now? Just putting her in front of the tv?" I explained that I put her down so I could find the baby book. He just huffed and walked out the door. WTF???

In other news, I need to start Alice's baby book! If it helps at all, she will be in her pack n play bassinet while I do it. She won't even have a tv to look at! LOL

Guys say the dumbest things sometimes! If it makes you feel any better I put Ben in front of the tv during the day. Sometimes the only thing that calms him down is putting him on his Boppy Lounger with a Binky in front of the TV. He loves staring at all the lights and colors and will coo, smile and kick up a storm!
I don't think guys understand what it's like to have your LO crying, screaming and fussy with no one to hand them to for a break. I say if the TV gives you a little bit of quiet time then go for it! :0)

I'm with Mrs Ike.. did he appologize after kicking him?! LOL.. I know that would have been my reaction!!
When I was home full time with DS (and, mind you, DS is VERY colicky), sometimes when DH would get home he'd criticize me.. say things like "you need to be more patient".. or something along those lines.. now that tables are turned and he's home full time for 7 weeks, he finally understands!! It's very easy to have patience with a screaming baby after 10 minutes of screaming, even 30 minutes, even an hour!! But, once you start hitting 2 and 3 hours of non-stop screaming, YES, my patience are a bit on edge

Dinnertime was the witching hour for DS...whenever I wanted to start dinner or sit down for dinner with DH, he'd be in the swing screaming his head off, even when he was just fed. When he was 3 months old, I started the Baby Signing Time videos and plopped him in a bouncer in front of the TV. It's a 25-28 minute video and he was absolutely mesmerized. Today, he can still use sign language!
Don't feel guilty one bit!!!
