... but I'm off to get a root canal.
One nice thing about our adoption- and specifically the (terrifying) court trip- is that it puts things like root canals into perspective.
Before adoption: Root canals are from the devil! I am shaking with fear! I might puke!
After adoption: Oh yea I have a root canal this afternoon. I wonder if I'll have time to hit up target after?
Wish me luck! ;-)

Just be careful- after the root canal, the drugs they use will still be in, making you think it doesn't hurt as much as you thought, but they'll wear off sooner then you can realize what's happening. I'd hate to see you in Target suddenly in a lot of pain.
Be pre-emptive with IB Prophen an such
I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID.
Okay not really but ugh that was rough. First they did not numb me enough so I had to stop them twice to give me more meds. And then another patient had an emergency that my dentist had to attend to and I sat there for 30 minutes with my mouth open! It took 2 hours for one root canal. And I have to go back 3 more times, once for "gum therapy" and twice to finish the root canal.
I think I'm just not going to brush my teeth anymore b/c it doesn't seem to be doing me any good.
Vent over.

Ugh!! I seriously am terrified of the dentist and would probably have had a nervous breakdown if I had to wait for 30 minutes for them to come back. I'm glad you're done for now but I sucks that you have to go back 3 more times.
Oh how miserable!! So sorry! Prayers for a speedy recovery!!

If you have a toothache get it checked out! I ended up with a root canal b/c I ignored my sensitivity for a year. It would have just been a cavity if I went in right away, but we just bought out house a year ago and without dental insurance I was trying to save $$. It is going to be $2,000 to fix my problems when it is all said and done. Wish I would have gone in sooner!

I won't wait that long. I do have an appointment in a few weeks for my bi-annual check-up, but I was going to try to skip x-rays because of no insurance at the moment. We'll see, if it still hurts by then I will suck it up. Good news is my consulting job may become full time, and even though I wanted to be a SAHM, with hubby currently unemployed, it is welcomed news.

Oh, no! That's awful! So sorry it was a bad experience. But at least you're through the first part now... Is that a bright side?
