Hi everyone!
Sorry the thread is a little late--I had my 16-week ob appointment this morning and then DH and I went out to lunch and ran some errands. We just now got home!
Next week I am going to be out of town until Wednesday, so please be advised that next week's check-in thread will not go up until Wednesday evening (EST). Sorry for the inconvenience.

With family in just the right area of Pennsylvania, I grew up going to Hershey Park. I've taken DD to that park in the past already, but I don't think she'd been ready, at the time, to ride the visitor's center Chocolate World ride, where they show you how they make chocolate. So I'm looking forward to making that trip sometime with both kids.
Updates/Vents:
I've been told I occasionally get the "Ready to be done with this" face. And I'm not overly surprised. But LO seems rather intent on keeping snuggled up to my ribs rather than dropping, so I don't expect he'll be getting here any earlier than DD did (4 days past due date.)
But he does seem to like kicking/punching my bladder, so back to the bathroom for me.

My family never took vacations like that and I want to make a special point to "magic up" my kid's childhood.
There's so much, I just don't even know where to start! I will say something I didn't experience that I'd like to share is Disneyland.

Had my 16 week checkup today too! Everything went smoothly, HB was 160 and they found it right away. So much for the anterior placenta theory! It's also nice that the uterus has moved up and they don't have to dig trenches in my groin and leave my ute sore to find the HB.I've also been feeling what I call "baby bubbles" which is fun.
They drew blood to test for neural tube defects, so we'll have those results in a few days. Got my flu shot- hurt like a B!TCH! Apparently the batch this year is a little gnarly that way.
Anatomy scan was scheduled for 11/20, the Tuesday, week of Tgiving. Really looking forward to that!
My VENT:- I literally hit "Enter" on the check-in screen and they were calling me over to the billing desk about a $400 charge for an appt THREE weeks ago that I hadn't even gotten a bill for yet. I mean, I get it, you people don't work for free. But, geez, can I get the bill first and then maybe you ask me after 30 days and I haven't paid? Really put a bad taste in my mouth. Esp since I had to wait 20 minutes to get in for a simple appt at 8 am. Really? You're already backed up at 8 am? I see how quick you are to call me when you want my money, not so quick when administering care. I will also mention that they told me I would be paying for U/S upfront. Fine. I asked the day of the NT scan (of the aforementioned $400) if there was charge- no, no money today. WTF? Get your act together people!
I'd be more p.o'ed if everyone in the office wasn't so nice and actually taking good care of me, so I really can't complain that much.
Need to update my EDD to 5/17/13. Not that it matters much because I know that the doc will take me a week earlier for a c/s.

I did not have the greatest childhood and hope to give my kiddos more than I had. Not sure I would like to re-experience much with them. Just really excited to let them be kids and live in the moment. Hope to create some new & beautiful experiences with them!

So tired of having no energy. Nausea has let up a bit. Hope my energy is soon to rebound. NT scan scheduled for Nov. 2nd. It has been almost 2 weeks since my last peek and I am excited to see what is going on in there.
QOTW: We have a rite of passage in our family-- a grandfather takes the young child on his lap as he drives the riding lawnmower around. We have photos of my dad and his two sisters with their grandfather; photos of my siblings and me with my dad's father; and now photos of my nieces and nephews with my dad.
So I'm very excited for that. Also, to show them how we make eggplant parm, lasagna at Thanksgiving, poti?a, and other ethnic foods that are traditions in our family. Also, the women on my mom's side of the family all learn to do "the eyes." You have to learn at midnight on Christmas Eve, so if this is a girl, she'll be part of that tradition!
Update: Very relieved and excited to see my LO's HB and see him/her do a little belly-dance shimmy for us. Now I can feel a little more relaxed for the next 4 weeks.
Also, I cleared my papaya drops (chewables) with my OB so I can take them for the heartburn/gas/bloat. I hate the taste and grit of Tums (which has Talc in it-- why?), so with my m/s these drops are a very welcome addition to my regimen.

My brother is 4 years older than me and I have many fond memories of our relationship as little kids. I am hoping for the same for my son and my little girl.

updates/vents - not much to update, looking forward to my first ultrasound in a week and a half and trying to stay positive. Sore breasts and just got up from a nap.
QOTW: tough one, but I would say going to the beach. I love the little baby pictures of me playing in the sand (and I love the beach as well)!

QOTW: I don't have any one special memory, but in a way I'm glad my babies will have each other to hang out with and play together. My younger brother and I would ride our bikes all day through the neighborhood, go pick wild blackberries, go crawfishing down by the bayou. I'm looking forward to my children being able to do similar things together.
Updates/Vents: I dont have any appointments for 2 weeks, what am I going to do with myself? I was able to find both babies heartbeats on my doppler this weekend and got it on video, I wish we could share video on here. My next appt is with the MFM on 11/7, that will be for my CVS (nervous and scared of course).
No symptoms other than fatigue. And it's getting really hard to hide this bloat at work, I'm wearing lots of flowy cardigans to hide my belly.

Update: I had my first OB appointment today. I PIAC, gave 4 vials of blood and I get to do a 24 hour urine collection. I got a referral to MFM and scheduled my NT scan there for 11/8. My next regular appointment is 11/20. Also, I ordered a doppler and it came today.

Crawling to the finish line here. I've hit the time of swollen. My feet and my hands are pretty bad. Thanks to my high risk status (heart condition and GD) I have weekly NST and Biophysicals---- no protein in urine and BP has been pretty good. Only a spike here and there. I HAVE gotten to the point where "I'm done!" lol.
C-section is scheduled for Nov. 16th. Trying to work until the 14th. I'm a teacher and really can't afford the sick days I'd have to use to go oout any sooner.
QOTW: My DH and I have a few Christmas traditions that will continue with LO. Other than that, I'm sure we will create our own traditions with this LO that we hope to continue with another pretty soon after this one!

Probably holiday traditions. I love Halloween and can't wait for my kids to really enjoy it when they are older.
Share your updates and vents: I can't wait for this Dr appt on Friday. I have been having some issues with breathing heavy and heart pounding which I didn't have during my last pregnancy. I never lost the pregnancy weight from my last baby who is 16 months old so I am worried about my health more this time. I eat way better than I used to when I was pregnant but I guess I just don't exercise and that is what is messing me up. I have a new OB/GYN who I have never met because we moved to the area a year ago so I hope they are good!
QOTW: I grew up very close to all my cousins, we were all around the same age, had alot of sleepovers and holidays spent together. I was a little worried because their kids are all almost teenagers now, but my sister is due in a week, (she's 42) with her first so we'll have two little cousins very close in age who can share those experiences together. We're both happy that it worked out this way since at our ages we might not get a chance to conceive siblings.
Share your updates and vents: I'm started to get nauseous in cars and on the subway about a week ago. This morning on a very crowded and hot subway I came extremely close to throwing up. Thankfully DH commutes with me and I leaned on him until we could get off. I had to sit down for a few minutes and drink some water. I think from now on I need to get some food in my stomach before I leave the house. I can't believe I made it through the first tri no issues and now morning sickness hits.. sigh..

QOTW: What special childhood memory of your own are you hoping to share or re-experience with your own baby? Camping trips and trips to Disneyland were awesome and I'd love to do those. Also I never had a sibling close in age so I was close to my cousins. Our baby will have a cousin one year older so I'm hoping they are great friends too.
Share your updates and vents: Nothing much to update, still going good. I am debating when to tell my boss i'm pg. I want to hold out but I may tell next week after my next appt.
Oh and a vent. I am not one of those people that post everything on facebook, I rarely even make a post. I will probably just have dh post something after our a/s but I won't be putting anything about my pregnancy on there before that. Well I told a good friend on Saturday and she posted about it immediately afterwards. I even told her I'm not doing a fb announcement. So I told her to take it off (she had tagged me) and she did. Well then my mom posts later about being a grandma and all my family is responding. I don't care if people know now and I'd rather have my mom tell than me but I just hadn't told everyone I wanted to yet. I was waiting to tell another friend in person this week but she found out that way first. I'm over it now but its just annoying.

Since my parents weren't the type to do outdoorsy stuff, I am really looking forward to some fun camping, skiing, and boating vacations with my LOs so they can enjoy the experiences I never had.

I had a late check-in last week due to how busy I've been with work so I've barely had time to "bump". So far things are going well but this time around LO wants to hang out so low in my ute that it's like he's already dropped. It's making me feel like i'm about 8.5 months along when I'm only about 6.5 months...can't reach my shoes and bending over to pick anything up at this point is a major chore...

Hello ladies I'm hoping to start posting over here more. My mom raised my little brother and I to love baseball. She took us to many games at Candlestick park to watch the SF Giants. I hope that I will be able to do the same with my children. I think I'm on the right path, last night I overheard my DD#1 telling DH that Panda was batting next and that her favorite Giants are Brian Wilson and Hunter Pants!! LOL!!

Update: We had our first u/s last week and we saw a beautiful heartbeat. I go in again next Monday for another u/s and hopefully I will graduate from my RE!
Vent: I am really sick and tired of the "liquid fire" shots every night in my arse! I will be so excited when the PIO shots are done!!

I guess I have't thought about it yet. Probably just the traveling that we did. Course most of it was via a car as a kid and DH works for an airline so just about everything we do is via the air. Not sure what else.

QOTW - I hope that the baby will have the same great memories of the simple vacations we did when I was a kid. I lot of time in northern WI visiting family and spending time on the lake. We never did the big Disney trips, and I do not regret that one bit.
Update - We had our big anatomy scan today. Everything looks great and we are most definitely having a boy! My morning sickness continues to hang around, but it improving. I finally gained weight at my last appointment last week. I am back at my 11w weight and still down over 20 pounds pre-pg weight.
I really love feeling this baby move. I have been at a conference for the past few days and they had donuts in the morning. She goes crazy when I eat one. I kind of want to get one today just so that I can feel her dance.
QOTW: I grew up in the country but my girl will live in the city. I still want her to experience things like picking wild berries and cooking over a fire.
Updates and vents: I over did it on my business trip. My ankles look like elephant girl and I don't even recognize my own feet. However, while I was gone, DH worked in the baby's room (I knew that he was doing that) but he also touched up the paint everywhere and cleaned the oven since I don't want to be around all of those fumes. I finally ordered the crib and the changing table. I amy actually be ready for this kid when she gets here.

QOTW: Favorite childhood memory?
Baking with my mom. From as early as I can remember, she let me help her in the kitchen and that was our special time. I'm having a boy, so I want to make sure i can find something similar that is for him and me beyond what he and my DH will bond over.
Updates/Vents: It was good week! Had a 22 week checkup and heart the heartbeat again (and cried with happiness, of course). My hemorrhoids have subsided, thankfully. A few sleepless nights, but that's just preparation, right?
Not specific to any question, but I just wanted to add how much comfort it gives me seeing our list of 35+ so long. I often freak out about what am I doing being a FTM at 41 and seeing all of you here calms me down. Thanks!

Update:
Hi everybody! This is my first check-in since I got my BFP this past week. I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in May, so I am being monitored in case this one's ectopic too. But I am hoping for the best! I will get my first bloodwork results on Monday morning.
