I'm so glad that your little girl is doing so well. Please head over to the preemie board - they are an amazing group of women and such a great source of information and support. If it encourages you, a girl I went to high school with had twin girls last year at 23w2d, and they are now almost a year old and doing very well - still on O2, but meeting all of their milestones and they came home about 3 weeks after their due date.
I wish you all the best for you and your new DD!!!

The first part of your story had my heart breaking. I was so overjoyed to see that she is fighting so hard to be here. Praying for you and her that she continues to fight and that she goes home with you as soon as possible. Congratulations on your early baby. Can't wait to find out what you named her.

I'm going to follow up with my own post, by saying that I agree with others - go to the preemie board. Also, I was born at 26 weeks (not much bigger than your little lady) and after much time in the NICU (5 months) and a few more months on oxygen at home, I grew up with few complications in part from supportive parents and much early intervention. I would urge you that if you feel the need, to seek out as much early intervention as possible - whether or not your child would need speech, physical therapy or occupational therapy will obviously be up to your discretion, but in my case, it helped me meet those important childhood developmental milestones and probably did help with my own development. As said, may your baby grow, grow, grow!
