Hi, ladies :
I, once upon a time, had a 29 week preemie who weighed 1 lb 13 oz and was 13.5" long. She was born early due to my ob not catching me go eclamptic and she was taken by very emergency c/s to save my life talking seizures and bp of over 200/250. She spent 5 weeks in NICU, was the smallest baby at or hospital to be put in an open crib and maintain her own body temperature, and came home at 3 lbs 12 oz in a cabbage patch dress. She was so perfect! She was small the first 3 years of her life, and then she started catching up with the kids her age. Today, she's 9 and the tallest girl in her class. She's very smart and the worst thing that's come out of her prematurity is that she was diagnosed with adhd. The child has boundless energy and is so skinny.
Reading your board makes me really miss my tiny cuddly baby. And it makes me remember all the heart ache and stress I went through too. So if I can ever be of assistance, I would be glad to. I was never able to breast feed either so we were on the formula rollercoaster and her first year was a colic nightmare.
My question for some of you ladies is my husband and are trying to conceive 2. I'm almost scared to death to do it because I'm afraid I'll have another preemie. Any success stories or words of wisdom? We've been treeing for 10 months now.
Thanks. And good luck to all of you and your beautiful, precious babies.

Thanks for the welcomes
And I hope your little ones come home happy and healthy soon if they are not already!
And to clarify, yes, she did come home very early and very tiny. Due to the eclampsia that was not caught, she was sitting in little to no amniotic for about 1-2 weeks prior to the emergency c-section. So her lungs and other vital organs had been super developed ... not like most preemies. That was the biggest reason her NICU stay was so short and she was so tiny when she came home.
Just in case ya think I'm full of crap ... lol!! haha. She was only intubated for less than 24 hours ... apgars of 8 and 9 at birth. I was told she came out screaming ... lol, I was completely knocked out. So yea .... that's what made it a little bit different .... due to my being in such distress helped her develop more in utero.
Look forward to getting to know you all!!
