Car seat expiration dates on the box?

I just found an awesome deal( i think) on Britax marathon classic(prolly last years model) and I was wondering when I pick it up at the store can I find the expiration date on the box itself or is it only on the actual car seat? TIA for any help!

My Britax Frontier (bought in April) had the date of manufacture both on the box and on the seat (I was thrilled, 03/11 dom!) Britax car seats and booster only expire 6 years after dom and the Frontier is 9 years. I bought mine at BRU...and I've had them check before too with doms.

I would check the Britax website for the expiration information.  I think the classic has a 5 year expiration date and the new generation styles are 7 years.  Either way, the expirations are different.

My boulevard has it on the box and on the seat.  I got a great deal on a clearance fabric (that I still love) - I bought it December 2010 and DOM was November 2011!  Score!  I hope yours is just as lucky!

Just curious, how did you buy a car seat in December 2010 that was manufactured in November 2011?  Especially since it's only June 2011 right now.  I'm confused.

Okay - here is the link of "retired" Britax seats. And...the instructions for the Britax Marathon Classic (US instructions), see page 4, 8 bullets down. Like I said before, 6 years expiry. Britax seats have 6 years expiry for the infant seats, the infant/child (like the Marathon styles), and booster only (like the Parkway). The harness to booster (Frontier) is 9 years (page 3 of the pdf, bottom bullet left side, again). Or, handy Transport Canada has compiled a list of expiry dates from the manufacturers. And yes, it will be the same south of the border, except we don't have all the seats as the US (I think Recaro isn't approved here, and a few others).

I wondered the same thing. I'm assuming it's a typo.

Britax Classic seats are a 6 year expiration.

Britax New Generation seats are a 7 year expiration.

The date the seat was manufactured should be on the side of the box.
