I read the book and found it utterly impossible to connect the girl to the Carrie Bradshaw I "know". I never read the SATC books but I watched the show.
I think the new show looks silly. It seems like a lame attempt to grasp at whatever popularity is left from the HBO series.

Yep, same here. That book was horrible.
Mom to two beautiful girls and forever labor buddy to the fab lady MandaPanda518!
They've got an uphill battle. If the show is independently good then it could be ok, but I feel like it has to overcome the fact that it's associated with SATC rather than benefiting from it. SATC was good, but they're never going to recreate it. The expectations about quality and content are going to be a huge problem for the new show.

FFTC: I can't stand SATC. I loved it and watched every single episode in college, but when I attempt to watch repeats, it's just so dumb to me. Carrie's stupid puns drive me crazy. So yeah, I don't think I'll be watching this one.

Darn, when I saw the title I thought it had to do with Stephen King's Carrie.
Plug it up.
Ba ha ha !!!
"everyone can see your dirty pillows".
THEY'RE ALL GONNA LAUGH AT YOU!
On topic: I read the book too, even though I was never a fan of the SATC series in the first place. Or the movies. I have no idea why I read it and I don't remember anything about it except that she met Samantha at the very end of the book. Also, the cover was stupid.

I'd love to see Samantha as a teenager.
$10 says she's a quiet churchmouse type.
