still pregnant, still working...

just a vent...

I work in middle school as a reading specialist (thank god not a regular classroom) and I am SO uncomfortable. Between waddling to get my students, peeing every class period, and the endless comments from staff and kids (although it's more endearing from the students), I am D-U-N, done! It is a plus that my DH teaches right down the hallway from me. He noticed a puddle in the hallway and came to my room to see if my water broke...very cute. So glad DH has been doing the entire bedtime routine with DS. Although, I wish I had energy to do those last minute things before baby and try to keep a clean house in case she arrives. Anyone else still working? How are you doing?

  • I'm a middle school language arts teacher. Everyday is such a challenge. All I want to do is teach from my desk!
  • I'm a billing manager for a mid sized law firm and still working full time.  My mother is going nuts and telling me to stay home everyday.  It is getting really exhausting hearing her comments.  I keep telling her that sitting around wasting my maternity leave on TV time is not what I want to do.  I am not at a physically demanding job so why not sit at a computer.  Since my blood pressure is all good, I keep working.  At this time, I appreciate the mental distraction.

  • I am a substitute teacher and last week I was in for a kindergarten teacher. Never again until after baby. 27 students. It was the worst day of my teaching career. I did however enjoy my Friday. I was in for one of my normal places and I was so swollen and beat come lunch time that the afternoon was taught from the rocking chair in the room.

  • Still working! It's so hard to focus on anything other than LO tho! I just want him here already. I work 6 days a week and do about 910 hr days, by Saturday I am just beat! But if I didn't work I think I would go crazy being at home just waiting for LO. But the longer I work the more time I get with him so it's all worth it

  • I'm still working full time. I'm on my feet all day and everyday I show up my regular customers and co-workers looked at me in shock and make comments like "Oh, your still here". Yes, I'm still here and still pregnant.
  • I teach 4th grade.  I am working until Friday.  This past week has been very hard.  I wish I could sit down and teach too!

  • I feel like I can't complain as I'm only 38 weeks right now and not even close to being overdue but I am a nurse and every minute is a struggle for me and getting harder and harder by the day. I feel your pain! GL to you. Hopefully you'll get to have your baby soon. In the meantime, just know that there are plenty of us right there with you!!

  • Still pregnant and still working too... I am due on Saturday, but my DR says... "yeah right"... so I'm sure I will be here next week too.... Unlike the teachers (MAJOR PROPS!!!) I just work at a desk... but I have to tell you... working at a desk and sitting ALL day isn't that great either!! Swollen feet/ankles, and now my butt falls asleep too!!!

Bright side to all of this............... the baby HAS to come soon, right???? :) Good luck to all of you!!!!!

  • I teach students with severe special needs so we have exercise balls in the classroom.  I have been taking advantage and sitting on them whenever possible.  I don't know how much more I can take though.  Tomorrow is a teacher work day for parent teacher conferences and I will have nothing to do.  I have been pretty much ready for a couple weeks now and I did my parent teacher conferences this week to be on the safe side.  I am going to be so bored.  I hope that if I haven't had the baby by the time of parent teacher conferences my principal will let me go home or not stay the whole time since mine are all done.
