Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Does your DC do this?

My baby is almost 7 weeks old and has started licking things.  It just started this week.  I've also noticed that she is drooling more.  Is this normal for her age?  TIA

Re: Does your DC do this?

  • mine does - she loves the chew on the moby wrap when in it.

  • My dd is almost 8 weeks and yes this is very normal.  When she is on my shoulder she drools and licks my shoulder but shes not hungry so just get use to the drool and get some burp cloths.

  • I haven't noticed DD licking anything, but she is drooling more.  She does stick out her tongue a lot, and I thought this meant she was hungry.
  • Yes.  He started doing that around 7 weeks.  My shirts were soaked from him licking and sucking on them when I would hold him.  He also started drooling more then.  We started giving him the pacifier and it helped with him licking and eating everything.
  • Same here!!! My daughter just started drooling leaving lakes behind everywhere, and I called the doctor, she said it's normal. They produce a lot of saliva and anything they can;t swallow they will end up drooling out is what she told me. I have noticed when I hold my daughter she likes to put her sleeve in her mouth and pretend to chew on it, and then she'll daize off... Pretty sure that's normal.
