What brand of soap and lotion are you going to use on LO? We cant decide if we want to go organic or just use JJ or Aveno. Would love to hear what you use or will use and why.
I used the skin deep database (it looks like it's down right now) to research a bunch of different kinds. It gives a green/yellow/red rating based on chemicals.
We went with Burt's Bees fragrance free soap/shampoo. Smells good and is really gentle and easy to find in stores.
Burt's Bees has a tear free baby shampoo that is also a body wash. It smells amazing and is gentle. I always thought Johnson and Johnson was good but not so much. They have nasty ingredients. And I am pretty sure they own Aveeno.

Oh - that sounds like a great website! Off to google it. Thanks!
DS has sensitive skin like me, so we use Babyganics.nbsp; It works great and cleaned up his baby Escema right away.nbsp; We started with Aveeno and then there was a recall on the exact thing we had, and DS was starting to show the escema so we switched before DS was even a month old and have been very happy with Babyganics.nbsp; We use their lotion, soap, bubble bath, and sunblock!
This for us too! Babyganics is amazing!
Diagnosed MFI- low sperm count
DS-Born 7/27/11 After 2 years of IF we have our little man
I use any brand that does not contain parabens or artificial fragrance. Have liked Seventh Generation "Wee Generation", Babyganics, Episencial and others. A little goes a long way, so I get the good stuff that are as natural as possible.
I used California Baby until they changed the ingredients. Now we use Burt's Bees soap, Babyganics bubble bath and Weleda toothpaste. I highly recommend looking at the skindeep and safemama websites. It's very eye-opening. They break down why certain ingredients are bad. Safemama.com will give you the best pics so the research is done for you. Burt's Bees isn't perfect but it's easy to find and reasonably priced.
In general, JJ (which includes Aveeno!!) is terrible as far as toxic ingredients go. The JJ "Naturals" is no better. They can write whatever they want on the package but until you start reading ingredients, you won't what's good and what's not. A few things to stay away from: parabens, phthalates, SLS, fragrance.
I'm planning to use Earth Mama Angel Baby products. I've heard great things about them + I can get them on Amazon with prime or BRU or other local shops.

I plan to use California Baby products. I was on a consumer site that rated beauty products and I remember Johnson & Johnson and Medela had the lowest ratings for baby products. Johnson & Johnson also recently got some bad press bc an ingredient they promised to take out years ago was not removed.
If I remember the name of the site I'll post it. They basically ran products thru a battery of tests and posted the ratings. I found a lot of really good information on all kinds of cosmetic and beauty products that has ultimately affected the way I shop for myself as well as the baby
Edited to say I think the site was skindeep like the pp said but it looks like its down

We use the shampoo and lotion as well and love it. I chose this after looking at the Skin Deep website.
We use Earth Mama Angel Baby now. We used CA Baby in the past, but they changed their formula and were kind of shady about it (it's still actually not horrible, but the bad business practices left a bad taste in my mouth).
