E has a bug bite on her leg. I have no clue where or what it came from (maybe the Pumpkin Patch). It hasn't gotten bigger but it hasn't gotten smaller either. It looks like a chigger bite but it isn't in an area that had elastic bands. Its irregular shaped.
Anyone had experience with bug bites? At what point do I need to be concerned and take her in? It's definitely not doing the red bullseye thing.
I'm calling the pedi to be safe.
Re: Bug bite
My DD had what I thought was a bug bite on her cheek about 6 months ago. It wouldn't go away then started spreading. It turned out it was a staph infection and she was on high dose antibiotics then a Rx cream for over a month. 2 months later it finally went away.
Obviously I don't know if this is what your DD has, but I'm saying keep your eye on it. I never imagined that little red dot would turn into such a PITA to get rid of! I would give it a day or 2 more. If it doesn't get smaller I would take her in.
Olivia has had a good number of bug bites. I put bug repellant on her but mosquitos love her. It just happens. She currently has 2 rather large ones on her temple which sucks. I watched them for a day and was going to call if they got bigger or more red but today they are both way better already.
I know you live in Texas and I'm guessing it's just mosquitos. Our pedi said that babies can have much larger physical reactions than adults to even tiny bug bites but that it is generally nothing to worry about unless they start to get more irritated.
