Cloth Diapering

Labeling (LO's name) diapers for daycare

LO will have to go to daycare in a couple weeks. :-(

The daycare handbook says all items must be labeled with first & last name.

What do you use to label your cloth diapers for daycare? Marker (Sharpie or fabric marker)? Sew-in tags?  We plan on using these diapers if we have another baby too.

Re: Labeling (LO's name) diapers for daycare

  • Since diapers have such great resale I don't think I'd want to do anything permanent. Namebubbles makes adhesive labels that stay on in the wash but peel off when you are done with them.

We did iron ons for the jackets and stuff that we didn't want to lose at daycare but they are more permanent. we're the only one at our DC doing cloth so we haven't had to label those.

We have namebubbles for our 3 LO's.  The teachers like them because they are more visable then a name written in marker.

I have the sticker ones.  They can be removed and are not exactly permanent but work well for us.  The iron on ones are more permanent.

  • I also use name bubbles for everything that I label, but I don't label DS's diapers.  Like PPs, he's the only one in cloth in the infant room (there's only 4 babies in there).

  • I'd say sew a piece of ribbon or something on them and write LO's name on that, that way it's easy to take off when you want to :)
