Hi, there. Brand new to the board.

    SN: 2redtulips
    Due date: May 30, 2013
Sex: We'll be keeping it a secret once we find out

The only thing I have bought so far is one pregnancy book and one parenting book.

I did buy a little hat ages ago when we were deciding whether to try (I was tired of buying gifts for everyone else's babies, so I bought a gift for MY future child).

Hello and welcome! *throws confetti* I think the little hat is so so sweet as a TTC purchase! Did you buy a neutral color or a blue/pink one?

  • Would love to be added to the check-in!

    Screen Name: lilblt19

    Due date: April 15, 2013

Sex of baby:  I forgot to ask my perinatologist last week when he gave me my MaterniT21 results.  Couldn?t wait until my next appointment so I finally called him today and found out we?re having a GIRL!

QOTW: Haven?t bought anything for baby yet but have been thinking about what I wanted for nursery and looking online for inspiration.  And now I know that we?re having a girl, I ?m sure it won?t be long before I buy something!

Update: Can?t wait for my next appointment November 1st?counting down the days!

  • Hi Danuli8: Could you correct my username spelling (Beforesunrise - 3/1/13) - thanks:)

QOTW: For those who are further along, what was the first major acquisition you made for baby? For those who are earlier in their pregnancies, have you bought anything for baby yet? If so, what?

I've just finished making notes after reading Baby Bargains and are making our first trip to a baby store this weekend to start picking things out. I'm pretty overwhelmed by the selection/options as well as the list of everything we'll need, but know I need to just take the first step to get things moving.

    Updates/Vents:

I think I felt my first baby movements/flips - yay! I've been having a hard time finding maternity clothes that fit me well (bump but still small, hourglass figure). So, the week was a mixed bag but all and all I keep counting my blessings that my LO and I are H&H as a PG>35.

Hi and welcome to the check-in! I was reading your username as "lilbit" instead of lilblt...which makes me think of a very very tiny bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. Wink What can I say, I'm a pregnant woman and everything makes me think of food...

Big congrats on your baby GIRL! How wonderful! I think it is insanely fun to buy little girl clothes. I bet you will have lots of fun decorating!

Whoops! I corrected it in the Word file and it will show up correctly next week. Actually, duh, I'll just edit this post and fix it right here, too. Sorry!

I am reading BB right now too. My head is spinning!

Whoo-hoo! How great is that?! Yes

I've been having a hard time finding maternity clothes that fit me well (bump but still small, hourglass figure).

One word: Macy's. Their stuff is very nice and they have a fantastic clearance rack as well as great sales.

So, the week was a mixed bag but all and all I keep counting my blessings that my LO and I are H&H as a PG>35.

Amen, sistah, amen!  We are all very blessed indeed.

The first major thing we got for the baby was the crib and changing table...  however as these were given to us by SIL and BIL it wasn't really a purchase.  We waited until after our showers to buy any of the big stuff so we got most of it about 2 weeks ago or 4 weeks before due date.

Share your updates and vents:  2 weeks to go...  Holy Crap...  For awhile there it felt like I had been pregnant forever and now it's just the opposite - where did the time go?!?!  Have my weekly appt tonight.  Last week I was 100% effaced - 0 dialation but baby was in position.  I hope to go full term so it will be interesting to see what comes of tonights appt.

I got a pedicure last night - it was AH-MAY-ZING!  It was so good I didn't even care about my cankles and that I really should have shaved beforehand.  I tipped her 40% as a thank you for massaging my stumps for 1.5 hours to also assuage my guilt - seriously was the best day of my month so far.

I think the first big thing we purchased was the crib. Which is still sitting in the box. We had to paint the nursery first. It should get put together in a few weeks.  First thing period was a a little onsie I found while traveling in Colorado

Had another biophysical yesterday. All is looking good. The ultrasound tech said little one has a lot of hair and is long for the the age.

What color did you paint the nursery? Do you know the sex of the baby, or are you going to be surprised? So glad all is well--you don't have too much longer to go now!

Nursery is a really nice green. We are all about the surprise!

Sounds like your baby is behaving very well, getting into position and readying for takeoff! Travel I still have a long way to go on my pregnancy, but there is so much to do I don't know how it will all ever get done. April will be here before I know it!

Your pedicure sounds like a fantastic experience! Did you get your toenails painted? If so, what color did you get?

  • I'm being induced this Sunday evening so sometime Monday October 22nd my little girl should be here. So I think that is an official move up from a November mom to an October mom. Being induced early because of a list of reasons type 1 diabetic, advanced maternal age, borderline pre eclampsia, borderline gestational hypertension, and larger baby!.

Oh my! Good luck with your induction! I changed your EDD to October 22 in the Word file so it will show up correctly in next week's check-in post. Please do let us know how it all goes! FX for a smooth, safe delivery!

I haven't bought a single thing for this baby. It's my 2nd so we have a lot of hand-me-down clothes and stuff but I do need to get a new crib and a new pack-n-play...our first one was lost along the freeway somewhere when my DH forgot to close the tailgate of the truck on the way back from our storage unit...oops! :) I also need to get some onsies with long sleeves since this baby is due in January and my first was a May baby. We are currently in an apartment waiting for our new house to be built (expected move-in early Dec) so I am hesitating on buying anything until we are moved in...nothing like cutting it close!!

    Updates/Vents:

At our A/S appt last month everything looked good which was a HUGE relief since DH convinced me not to have any of the genetic screening this time around. I'm not 100% in the clear since you just never know but based on the anatomy all looks to be well! And IT'S A BOY!! This will be our second boy...and we are super excited!

Oh, no, I can just see your pack-and-play getting mushed somewhere on the highway--bummer! Did you tease your DH about it? I sure would have. Wink FX that your new house is ready in time for you to get your nursery set up. Most importantly, congrats on your baby BOY! It is so exciting to find out the sex of the baby, and it just makes everything that much more real.
