Question about wine and coffee...so after my m/c my doc said sometimes coffee early on is known to cause a m/c. So I have been *trying* (not too successfully) to give up wine now that we are sorta ttc or not trying to prevent or whatever! Yeesh!
Now with wine (another weakness) I know they say if you are preggers or could be not to drink at all. Then there are the women who have a glass or two of red wine throughout. Then the women who wait until the BFP to stop drinking. Then the women who drink but not on their 2ww time. Then the women who drink mildly until their BFP. Hmmmmm thoughts? My doc said the drinking is not such a big deal until you get a positive as it has not attached yet or something but I am not sure how I feel. I guess maybe some of this is guilt I need to free myself of...

drink till it's pink! there's no way I'm not drinking 2 weeks out of every month ;-)
plus, on the practical side, you're not sharing a bloodstream with the baby yet until it's implanted (that is, you get a positive test). and after that, i say confer with your doctor and do what you are comfortable with based on their advice. most doctors i've talked to will admit that moderate (1 glass a week) after the second trimester is okay.
m/c: 9/06/12
LTB: 10/23/13
Coffee is NOT a risk factor for m/c. Your doctor is an ignorant @$$ for telling you that.
The blood supply does not form until about 6 wks (after testing) and therefore nothing you take in the 2ww can affect a potential embryo.
Don't be so hard on yourself.

Your doc is full of shyt and you shouldn't be blaming yourself for coffee or wine unless you were mainlining straight caffeine by the thousands of milligrams.
I have been TTC for over five years now, and some days a bubble bath and a glass of wine are the only way to cope. My fertility specialist encourages moderate wine drinking up until embryo transfer, and my midwives even approve a glass or two after the first trimester here and there.
I really think Americans are uptight about too much.
