We have been putting the girls in their rock and plays, giving them a bottle, and while they drank I would read a book and sing a song, then put them in their cribs and they would fuss or not but go to sleep pretty quickly. They are way too big to be in their rock and plays and they still get a bottle at night but we're hoping to get rid of that shortly. Now we sit them in their anywhere chairs and give them a bottle but they get up and grab my book and don't always want to sit still.
Any ideas to make a smoother, better, calmer routine?
Re: Tell me abt your bedtime routine with 1 year olds
Here's what we did at 1 year:
We still do basically the same thing, but we've cut out nursing now. I expect we'll keep this routine for a very long time.
Could you hold them while they get their bottles and read? I think it sends the message of settling down a little better, and would keep them from getting up and running around.
