Trying to Get Pregnant

trying to get pregnant...new on here..

I'm pretty new on here...seems like everywhere else I have posted no one ever answers...I guess its like that for many people so many questions and few answers. Hubby and I were married over three years ago and were together years before getting married anyway we like most of you have been trying to get pregnant. Through the years it was on and off, but I would say we have been trying every month for almost a year. We both have been checked and cleared a-okay! After a few months we tried fertility aids and the last thing we tried was the pre-seed with no luck! :( It seems like everyone I know is getting pregnant so easily..do any of you feel that way? I try to be happy for everyone else, but I'm only human and sometimes honestly it pisses me off lol! Since trying the pre seed in July my flow is now abnormal making me feel worse about my situation! I know there are couple out there who have been trying longer, but sometimes I feel like Im losing hope! grrr!! What have the rest of you ladies tried? What should I do?Tongue Tied

  • Would charting make a difference even with me being so irregular at the moment?

  • Its probably as irregular as irregular can get right now lol. Af has been normal since I first got it! I could always pinpoint when it was coming and even through the years with us ttc figuring out when it was coming was never a problem. This past summer in July I got it right on time like normal then on we tried pre-seed on my ovulation days and when august came around i didnt get my af. I tested and got a neg and we waited. Few weeks passed I tested again and it was negative and I had gone through a little bit of spotting (light in color and lasted a few hours). Aug went into sept and still nothing...i got sick a few times with mild cramping and thought maybe we were preg and occasionally spotted. Once i sat down and relaxed spotting went away than after a few weeks i was bleeding but nothing like my af and now the bleeding has been on and off but its not my normal af bleeding..sry if tmi!

    Charting is good because

It allows you to track information such as AF, CM, and OPKs just to name a few. It you make sure you take your temperate the same time each morning when you want up, it should get your a shift if you are ovulating... therefore you can look at your chart and say oh we should have sex on this day... etc. I would deff check it out.

  • Welcome and GL.  There are a lot of wise women here and they have lots of advice.  Please lurk a little and see what information is out there.  Charting is wonderful and will teach you so much about your cycle.  I have found that being here has helped me take charge of this more.

  • I would definitely recommend charting. Most of us on here who chart use Fertility Friend. Welcome and good luck to you!

  • Welcome!

If you are not charting, how do you know when your ovulation days are? Is it possible that you may actually be mistiming things? I think charting is great, especially if you are experiencing unusual cycles. It can give you a sense of control, which helps with the frustration and uncertainty, and it can give you a better idea of what your body is doing. Give it a shot.

    Good luck!

ETA: if you are using OPKs to check for ovulation, then charting is a great idea to confirm that you actually did ovulate after you detected the surge. It's always possible that you didn't.

  • Welcome and good luck!

I didn't read through all the replies, but I'm sure you have already been suggested to look into Fertility Friend, read the newbie link, lurk, and read TCOYF. That's the only advice I can give you, and I learned it all from the ladies here.

This is a great group of ladies here. I will tell you, if you haven't seen it yet, this board is full of snark, so just be prepared when you see it. No one here tries to be mean, but there are a lot of questions that get asked a hundred times a day.

Two great threads that are posted daily will be of great help for venting: the Waiting to O, and 2WW thread.

  • When I asked if charting would do any good I meant it more towards because what im getting isnt even like my af at all. Its been on and off bleeding since the last week of september. I was keeping tracking of my ovulation days and af before july. I just wish my af would get back on track!

You could be having a wonky cycle. It happens. Temping and putting that information into FF can help determine if you are ovulating. It takes the guess work out of "am I late" because of pregnancy or late ovulation or lack of ovulation at all. That plus opk's , and charting cm can help you determine when it's best to have sex or avoid sex depending on where you are at in your TTC journey.

If you hit more than 60 days without getting a positive hpt or AF, call your doctor and they can get you something to jump start your cycle to get you back on track.

  • I was using the cbefm to track my cycles, but recently moved to temping and charting because the machine wasn't picking up my ovulation.  Now, I probably will use both in conjunction with each other.

My advice, is to read the newbie link, read tcoyf.. The previous women gave a lot of helpful advice.  Good luck and welcome.
