in 2nd Trimester

Hi Mommies, 

                 I'm a lil nervous I'm 19 weeks and I have not felt the baby kick. They say usually around this time you start to feel the baby kick.  I play music for baby all the time and nothing. I also have pain under my stomach sometimes too painful to walk..the doctor said it was just the stomach stretching in other words growing pains. Is anyone else having similar problems?

    I'm 18 weeks and havent felt mine either :-( Makes me sad. And I also have problems with pain. Standing up mainly I feel like my uterus is falling! But I keep hearing its normal. I hope you feel yours kick soon!

    I hope you feel your baby kick soon too. The pain is so bad I can't even walk, even turning to my sides at night hurts. I sometimes think its lack of exercise but when I do go out for a walk or whatever I feel worse. I really do hope its all normal. Good luck to you too.

    a couple things, 1. if you're overweight it may take longer for you to feel the baby. 2. it may be a while before it's easy for you to distinguish the baby from gas. I honestly couldn't do that until I saw the baby moving on my mid-pregnancy ultrasound and felt it at the same time, I was able to distinguish a small difference between that feeling and gas. Now I feel it almost every day, but it's only slightly different than gas.

    Im right there with you. I will be 20 weeks on Thursday and I haven't noticed any kind of movement. I don't know if I have just missed it or think that its gas or what not. I had a 3d/4d ultrasound at 18 weeks 1 day and my little girl was sleeping the whole time. I don't know if she is just lazy or what but she didn't seem to pleased when the sonographer started jiggling my stomach. She started swatting her arm like she wanted her to stop. Just like me she gets cranky when someone wakes her up. :) Anyway, I'm not sure if she is just not moving much period or if she doesn't have enough room (the sonographer mentioned that I need to drink more water to increase my amniotic fluid volume). My a/s is scheduled for next friday so hopefully I will get to see her moving around in there. I hope you start to feel some movement soon!

    aww thank u for sharing that's so cute. Hopefully we will find out the gender on the 16th. My doctor told me to drink 8 glasses a water everyday its hard but I do it everyday. Well I guess my baby is lazy too haha. Good luck and thank u again. Hope you feel the baby move soon as well.

    20 weeks is average for a new pregnancy and if you have an anterior placenta it can be a little later.  Don't worry you'll feel him or her soon enough :)

    i can only feel my baby when im laying on my back, being very still and put a little pressure on my belly.

    First-time moms and moms who are carrying some extra weight will feel the baby kick later than veteran or more petite moms.

    With my first, I didn't feel any kicking until about 23-25 weeks, from what I remember. (it's been a while! :-) )

    Your OB won't even tell you to try to count kicks or keep track of baby's movements until your third trimester - movements are just too sporadic before then.

    I started feeling movement around 17 wks, but attributed it to gas until I realized it wasn't LOL - Same feeling, same spots... I am plus-sized so I am suprised I felt it so soon, but I've also read that an anterior placenta can delay that feeling too... no need to worry yet! I hope it happens soon for you!
