Nuva Ring while BFing??

I was talking to a friend who is currently bfing her 1 year old and she said her doctor told her she couldn't take NuvaRing while she is bfing.

My OB and my centering (group prenatal appt program) group discussed our birth control options for after baby and another girl and I were looking at taking NuvaRing. As far as I can remember OB didn't say anything about it affecting breast feeding as long as we waited to start until after 6 weeks.

That's as much as I can remember but I can't remember much these days so my question to you ladies is whether any of you are taking Nuva Ring and breast feeding? Did you notice a decrease in your milk supply?

Started TTC #1 11/2011 ~ BFP #1 03/28/2012-EDD 12/02/2012 ~

Greyson was Born by Unplanned C-Section on 11/20/2012 @ 8lbs 9oz 21 inhces

Started TTC #2 07/2013 ~ BFP #2 10/11/2013-EDD based on growth is June 26th

Liam born by Repeat C-Section on June 20, 2014 @ 8lbs 2oz 20.75 inches

    I am currently breastfeeding and I am getting the Nuva ring and my doctor said it is fine so good luck

    I didn't do the Nuva Ring, but I started back on the patch at six weeks after my son was born.  I had the same advice that you did, that after six weeks, it wouldn't affect breastfeeding.  I applied the patch on a Friday and by Monday had almost no milk.  I think BC just affects different people differently.  Make sure you have some milk in the freezer, just in case.
