Three weeks ago, I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Madeline Reese Johnson. My water broke and after 2 days on hospital bed rest to keep her inside me, I delivered her naturally at 32 weeks. She weighed 3 lbs 9 oz and was 17.5 inches long. She came out crying immediately. She spent 3 weeks on the NICU. She did so well! Never needed help breathing. She gained weight everyday and learned to feed from a bottle really well. I pumped and gave my breast milk to nurses to feed to her. I'm so happy that we got to take her home today! At 3 weeks old, she weighed 4 oz 11 oz.
On a side note, I wonder why babies sleep so well during the day, but keep us up at night? This is my 1st night at home with her. And she's definitely a night owl.
Re: Good news: 32 week preemie going home!
Try playing some white noise or soft lullabies at night. It could be too quiet for her at night since she's used to noise in the nicu.
How fortunate! Congratulations on homecoming.
She is still in gestational ages - she'll sleep all over the place. Even though she's home, she's still supposed to be inside you. GL
