I go in for my 20wk scan on Tuesday
Soo excited, ive been waiting 5 long months for my babys gender to be revealed!
Doctors keep saying you can find out the sex......if your baby is cooperative.
Well, way to make me worry that my baby will be in some awkward position. I would be so upset!
Anyone have an uncooperative baby?

Re: Any uncooperative babies at 20wk scan?
Yep! The scan is mostly to get measurements.. so don't go drinking caffiene thinking it will help baby move around and be able to see the sex (not thinking, I had a sip of a frappe before.. and she was all over the place. Couldn't get some measurements, couldn't 100% see sex and had to re-do the ultrasound).
Went back in and they say she is a girl!
Just may take a couple tries!

It was most likely a coincidence that she was active, a sip of frappe is no big deal and people shouldn't necessarily avoid sugar and caffeine before an a/s. I had a doughnut and OJ before mine (coincidence, I wasn't trying to get her high on sugar) and she still slept through the entire thing.

My son was like that. He moved so much I had to go back 4 weeks. The Tech couldn't get a few different measurements she needed. It was kind of fun to wait since the first one we didn't think we wanted to know. Good luck.

Mine was uncooperative at the NT scan in 1st trimester and I had to walk around outside for a while and then start the scan again.
At my 19 week scan, baby was being uncooperative again and the US tech wasn't able to get all the shots of the spine area. The US tech was able to get a mediocre screen shot showing us the sex and let us know she was "pretty sure, but not 100%." I have to go back for a second scan so they can get all the needed measurements and make sure everything is developing properly.
Got mine at 21 weeks instead of 20 but eh, it worked out. No one believed me how much this little booger moved until they saw it on the ultrasound. He kept shoving his feet in front of the wand and kicking so,the first 10 shots or so were of baby feet. After a while she was able to see it was a boy but it took about half of the ultrasound to get there. She said she was " pretty convinced" it was a boy.... if I hadn't seen his testicles, I'd probably never believe her.

The U/S tech said it may have been the caffeine. She sounded a little irritated when I'd said I had it too! =
