DD usually sleeps from 9ish to maybe midnight or 1 AM, wakes for a feeding, and then wakes every 1.5 to 3 hours for the rest of the night. It's rough getting through the day with three kids sometimes! I was going to start solids at 5 or so months, but if it would help cut down her night feedings, I'll start now.
My other two DDs STTN by two months, so I don't really know if solids aid in sleeping.
Re: did starting solids help LO STTN?
My LO has been STTN since he was 8 weeks... however, this past week he has been waking up...I at first thought maybe he is going through the 4 month wakeful period and I just needed to suck it up, but he would down a whole six ounce bottle in ten minutes and be fast asleep again until the morning. so i realized he was hungry. he was just getting up for a quick bottle and back to sleep he went.
i decided to start adding cereal to his diet since he is almost four months. i started in the morning to make sure he had no allergies. then i started to give it to him an hour before his last bottle of the night...so our new routine is cereal, bath, book, bottle and bed. he is back to STTN.
