Baby Names

Some interesting new babies' names on my FB feed...

I added the periods to Google-proof the names.

-Thor.rin (boy). I have heard Thorin with one R is a god from Norse mythology, but when I googled the name with two R's I got a lot of World of Warcraft and Harry Potter references. Which totally sounds like them.

-Ola.ris Ava.lon (girl). Googled again...Ola.ris turned up a LOT of Star Wars hits. Again, not surprised.

-Marcus, which is a perfectly good name, except the mom overshared the story of how he got his name. Apparently she got a 3rd degree tear in the shape of an M, so wanted an M name to commemorate that. Because who doesn't want to be reminded of their vaginal tearing when they see their child's name?

Okay. That is officially the worst reasoning behind a baby name that I have ever heard of in my life.

Barfola. That's is wrong in so many ways. Yuck.

  • If you want to google-proof the names, then make sure to put another period in the Ola.ris one the second time you mention it.

And all I can say is - Tongue Tied That poor child. Not because it's a bad name, but because it sounds like she's going to be telling people the story of how he got his name for the rest of his life.

It is an M name, and it commemorates that he left his "marc" on her!

Or another way to look at this, what guy doesn't want to be reminded of their mom's vaginal tearing when they hear their name? LOL.

    OMG.  Wikkid cringe-worthy story.

Full disclosure, I had a 3rd degree epi after tearing and I haven't looked at my crotch since, I don't want to know what shape (if any) it resembled!!  DH says it looks fine and I'm taking his word for it lol

    Agreed.  Name ruined.
