Penicillan & refusal?

I started penicillan yesterday for strep throat and ever since DD has just about refused to nurse.  When she does, it's short.  On top of my meds, she is teething, but that's never really stopped her.  I am drinking water and resting, but I am concerned that this is going to be a problem for the next 9 days.  She has been screaming all afternoon, so DH gave her a bottle of pumped milk (from Friday, pre-drugs) and she is now a happy camper.

Anyone experienced anything similar?  What did you do?

    I wasn't on penicillin, but I was on oxycodin or something, I can't remember right now... DS nursed but like your DD not for long and it made him drowsy. We made it through without any pumped BM, since my supply has always kinda been weird. I'd still offer your DD straight from you... GL

    Wanted to add also, maybe try nursing before you take the medication?

    Thanks, it's a twice a day dosage and she refused all afternoon (6-8 hours after the dose).  I guess during the week I pump for work anyway so I'll just want to take the meds until after she goes to bed and after she nurses.  Hopefully she'll take the milk at dc, but if not I guess that's why I have a freezer stash....

    At least you can go to the freezer stash if worse comes to worse, but I don't see that as a worse case scenario lol. Maybe send some from the freezer just in case?
