OK people. I'm sorry, but seriously? These repeat questions are getting ridiculous.
1. Don't put your baby in a snowsuit or any bulky clothing and then strap them into a seat. It's not safe, usually will void your car seat warranty, and can cause harm to the baby should you be in an accident. Also, common sense; sure, travelling from house to car is cold, but then your baby is completely bundled up in a car with the heater on and then they'll get REALLY hot. Not so safe.
2. DDing is stupid. So don't do it. Some of us really enjoy that sh!t and then you ruin the fun and gifs by DDing. DON'T DO IT!
Feel free to add more.
I'm sorry, I'm REALLY not trying to be mean here, but honestly; look around and see if your question has been asked recently. Odds are, it has, and we're just answering the same questions over and over. No, you can't tell me to "Just don't open the thread if you don't want to answer" because frankly, you still do need the answers especially when it comes to safety.
Re: OMG. Why are the SO many repeats of the same damn question?
There is also the "search" box at the top of the screen if one does not want to pick through the previous posts. Enter few appropriate key words and search. Granted to have an update on a thread or keep it going, this method does not work so well.
My tablet won't let me add pics or gifs so I have to give you a thumbs up
Oh, I know. This is just my attempt.
I realized that SOME of the time, people just don't think to read around, but then I know that most of the time, people just want to talk to hear themselves talk. Or, however true that can be when you're typing....
LOL. I thought so, and then I saw about a bazillion questions on 3rd tri about, "OMG is this runny stuff my mucus plug?@?!?" and, "How will I know if I'm having a contraction?" Seriously, people. Look up some damn answers. WE AREN'T EFFING DOCTORS.
I hardly ever go to 1st tri, and I'm still "around" in 2nd, but I'm usually in 3rd now... /sigh. I think my lack of emotions through this pregnancy is coming out now in the whole, "People annoy me." Way.
It's honestly not personal.... most of the time, anyway.
Yeah, I hear ya. This is my second time around too. So it's like a double whammy. I just roll my eyes and then get snarky. Then again this time around is coming with more annoying posts. Like how many times are we going to get questions on if we should get the whooping cough vaccine. Shoot me.
BFP#1 on 02/14/09 BIRTH to Mason 6lb9oz on 10/12/09
BFP#2 on 5/28/11 EDD 2/1/12 Natural M/C on 6/13/11
BFP#3 on 1/20/12 EDD 9/30/12 Natural m/c on 1/27/12
BFP#4 on 4/23/12 BIRTH to Isabella 7lb1oz on 12/19/12
LOL. I think the reason they don't is because they'd need a "FAQ: Answered by sugar-coating" and a "FAQ: Answered by snarky pregnant women. What did you expect?" double page.
I honestly don't know if I'll be able to handle this on my second kid. Seriously.... I do a lot of research on my own, and have my opinions that I don't expect anyone else to have, but have come to on my own. I will say, that as the week count goes up, the amount of straight up information (example; no, eating a runny egg won't kill your baby. Eating a dozen of them at once isn't recommended.) and "iffy" information changes. The vaccine talks are way more opinion-based than the bundle me conversations.
When I try to search for something I never get any results. I don't know if it is the fact that I use an iPad or if I'm just technologically incompetent. Granted I don't respond as much as you do because I am a FTM and I'm due at the end of the month so to be honest I don't have many answers. But, I find post titles that do not identify the subject and many of the AW posts way more annoying than repeats.
The mobile versions suck if that is what your iPad is making you use. If so, I did find that at the bottom of the site, you should be able to click to view the full site. At least, I'm pretty sure.. it was there this one time, but I didn't click it, so I can't be sure.
I'm a FTM, too, but I just research the crap out of stuff. /shrug. I'm just tired of having the same conversation over and over and over and over.....
This is what gets me every time. We should get paid for all the stupid shiit that we have to see/answer. Doctors make boat loads of money for doing the same thing.. why shouldn't we?
Aren't you sweet to be so concerned. Get a life, dude. Not everyone is on here all freakin day. It's nice to pop in and chat occasionally especially when you have a question. However redundant you feel it may be.
Since you are so irritated with ignorant people, why not just leave their questions unanswered and let evolution take its course to weed out the idiots. Then they can't bother you and make you open up those horrible repeat posts!!
Because you don't have to see/answer a hot darn thing. You could be reading, working, exercising, picking your nose, shaving your butt hair, etc. But only you can click a post and force yourself to see it. Not to mention the extra effort it takes to answer the question, geeeeeeez!!!
Plus, when you answer like a grumpy grouch it doesn't count as being helpful.
Just FYI....I looked and looked for proof of this statement. I called my pediatrician. I called the fire department. I called the police department. I called Graco. I looked for a published study proving that a Bundle Me or baby winter wear is unsafe, dangerous in car accidents, or that a warranty would be somehow voided. No such thing. I'm not sure where this (what appears to be a) rumor started or if there is any truth to it, because I sure couldn't find proof.
That would be a great idea, or if they had some sort of word cloud set up so people could have an easier time finding the topic and see what has already been said about it. Plus could then continue those threads without having to start new ones just to keep the thread going.
completely off topic - we are due the same day sprite
on topic - i bundled my DD up in a winter suit when i brought her home from the hosp at the end of dec (shes the 27th) - she didnt die... she was nice and comfy. my pediatrician actually told me to make sure she was bundled and the car was warmed up before we put her in it... but we live in NY and it was freezing out. so maybe thats y.
You betch. How dare you post something like this.
*clutches pearls*
You are truly a lovely person.

well bless your heart, aren't you a peach?
You're the first person I've seen with the same DD :-)
i think its just the 2 of us lol - i havent seen anyone else either. im also having a boy
And didn't you move to a private board anyway? You don't have to read silly posts from FTMs. This is a public board so it's going to happen that people post things over and over. Mehhhh.... who really cares? There are more important things to get mad about but we know some girls on here like drama ; )
'I loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more'
SO, you're saying I should keep my mouth shut and let people put their children in danger? Hm. I wonder what you'd do if you saw a kid run in to a street in front of their parents; would you stop them or say to yourself, "It's evolution! Let them do what they're gonna do!"
Hm, Funny, because I just looked it up and found several articles online about it, some quoting the AAP and Texas (I live in Texas) road safety about how they encourage people to put children in the car seat in their clothes for the day, buckle them in, and then cover them with the winter coat/blanket. The AAP says for you not to use after-market products because they aren't tested and therefore it is undetermined as to whether or not they are safe.

Correct terminology here would be, "Joined a private board." Not, "moved." People can be in a more private, secure board, and still be on public ones.
Andplusalso, "mad" isn't a word I would use. Annoyed? Sure. Tired of the same thing being asked when it was asked mere hours before? Definitely. I know that people are going to ask the same things over and over, and that's fine; I just think they should know that they don't HAVE to. I've been on forums for years, I've been a casual lurker and a paid moderator, and I know that some people don't realize that search features exist.
Betches get sh!t done.
The bundle me post is crap. You obviously didn't do your research since the car seat manuals state they void your warranty. But keep calling your pediatrician. They've never made any mistakes or have been misinformed before.

Oh geesh.
Oh wow. Okay, well the ONLY one that is an actual "published study" and not internet garbage/opinions/fluff would be the AAP publication. And that one states this:
A number of aftermarket add-on devices claim to solve the problem of poorly fitting seat belts; however, these products may actually interfere with proper lap and shoulder harness fit by positioning the lap belt too high on the abdomen and allowing too much slack in the shoulder harness, placing it too low across the shoulder.15 Until performance requirements are developed by the NHTSA for aftermarket devices, these products should not be used.
The JJ Cole Bundle Me, to my knowledge, does not claim to "solve the problem of poorly fitting seat belts".
Babyproducts.com, carseat.org, and thecarseatlady.com are not published studies, not backed by any valid research or evidence, and have nothing to do with the the carseat manual (which JennieONU, I have actually read).
This exactly. People act like GD is a death sentence. Is it serious? Yes. Do you need to take care of yourself for baby's sake? Yes. Will it kill you to follow a diet and test 4x a day and possibly take medication? No. Can you have a healthy baby if you follow the rules? YES. Follow YOUR doctors instructions, not some random on the internet.
Nothing we say will change your mind. Oh well. You were always going to do what you wanted. I do hope the safety of the product is never tested in your case, and it is a moot point to begin with.
Just stop trying to convince us it is safe. We have decided to not test it or worry about the chances. Its safety is not tested in car seat crashes, so no, I will not use it. I will warn others about it. It is their decision to do what they wish with the knowledge. Facts are facts. Material compresses. Never tested in car seat crashes. And voids car seat warranties. That's enough proof for me.
Oh, and my name is Jenni. NOT Jennie. Thanks.

Is this your sorry attempt at flaming? Eeek. Don't quit your day job.
Thanks for correcting me with your name. That is oh-so-important, as you tried to declare yourself the board safety patrol.
Anyway, there is a great new feature on TB called "quote". If you click it, then start ranting like a lunatic, everyone will know who you're aiming your snap caps at.
