My Ovulation Chart
Hi!!! Congrats to the mama's who had their LOs!
Can you add that I will be having a doula?
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
Since reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth when I was pregnant with DS I have never really waived. That is such an amazing book that put it all into perspective for me- our bodies are MADE to do this! We were designed to do this!
Congrats to all the new moms!
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
This may sound silly, but I go back to something my mom told me during a difficult time "you are stronger than you think." I also focus on the fact that she did it (3 times!), so I can do it too.
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
I remind myself that I did it before and I CAN do it again, and that I felt so much more amazing after my natural birth than I did with my epidural births. Also, my grandma, who had 7 children, says she preferred the natural births to the medicated ones. This, and remembering that just when I think I might die I know I'm minutes away from seeing my baby!
Haha, my username should read "3Girlsand1BoyMama"...with #5 on the way! (and then we're done.)
Me, 33, DH, 32 DDs 9, 7, 4 and DS 2. EDD #5 4-29-15
I remind myself that women have been doing this forever and if they can, so can I.
Please add me to the list:
EDD: May 1
Name: RachelandEduardo
Team TBD
Hospital birth with Midwife and Doula (possibly OB as well due to being slightly high risk)
A lot of what the other mommas have said: We are made to do this and so many women have done this before me.
I lost my grandma earlier this year, so I'm keeping her in mind knowing she made it through it 9 times!
Trying for #2 since July 2010
BFP 8/1/10, missed m/c, D&C 9/15/10.
BFP 1/8/11, chemical pregnancy.
BFP 3/4/11, measured behind all along, no more HB 4/18/11. D&C 4/29/11. HCG didn't drop, Repeat D&C 6/17/11; confirmed molar pregnancy 6/23/11.
Forced break, including two Hysteroscopies in October to remove retained tissue.
BFP 12/29/11! Betas @ 10 dpo = 85, 14 dpo= 498, 22 dpo = 7242
Heard HB 1/24/12. 144 bpm!
Luca Rose born 9/9/12! More than worth the wait!
Hi, I would like to be added to the list. My husband and I would love a natural birth and I am very confident I can achieve this goal!

I'm very happy I found this board. I'm sure it will help me gain confidence! :-)
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
I haven't really had any moments of doubt but I think all of the PPs have great affirmations! I think my only moment of doubt may be during labor if what I hear is true. By then I'll already be doing it! Since I'll be having a homebirth I won't really have a chance to change my mind...
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
I remind myself that if I can make it through a long, hard induction (granted not med free) that I can handle what my body will do on it's own. I love the mantra "Your contractions cannot be stronger than you because they are you." It really resonates with me and helps restore my confidence. I know I've made the right decision to choose a home birth this time and that really helps. I trust my care provider and birth team in a way that I didn't last time.
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
Can you add me to the list? My EDD is 10/17, bump name tbone_bride, Team BLUE and delivering at a hospital with doula support.
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
I will be practicing my relaxation techniques, my doula will be reciting visualizations and helping DH with massage/counterpressure. And reminding myself that going natural will be faster! Fingers crossed that I will succeed
M/C Nov 9, 2011 at 11 weeks.... We love you & miss you
When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
I have no clue I actually need suggestions on this topic now. (good question this week by the way). I found out that I have a low placenta. My OB will rescan me at 28 weeks then 30 weeks and 34week (if needed), but I know this complicated things. I worried that it will stay low and I will end up with a c section, which after I did my research and talked to my mother (who works in L &D) I feel would be the best option if needed. BUT I was excited for a natural birth, I wasn't brave enough to speak up for my self last time when I wanted one. Now I feel I have the personal strength to stand up for what I want. Now I worried my dream will be crushed before it even starts.
Great question! I just think about my Ds and how amazing and wonderful he is. Then I think about how much I will fall in love with this LO too and how worth it labor will be! Plus, I'm planning a home water birth, so I'm banking that these changes will only help me to better cope.

When my confidence waivers, I close my eyes and say a little prayer to be put back on the right path, and for the strength to believe in His design.

waivers, nbsp;what do you do to mentallynbsp;bring yourself back to a positive
state of mind?
I'm such a newbie FTM, that I haven't really doubted my self yet. I think knowing this has been done by millions of other women is reassuring.
Also, go ahead and update my listing to MW in a hospital. we met with her Friday and decided it is the perfect route for us!
Could you add me? I'm trying to be around more.
Ungraceful13 due 1/10/13 team pink hospital birth with OB and doula
QOTW: When my confidence waivers DH and I will go through the reasons I am doing this naturally.
When it wavers (and omg it has!), I just take deep breaths and sort of calm myself and tell myself I can do it. I have a super supportive DH and doula who will help us. I also remind myself women have done it forever so why can't I?
Also, I did labour with my twins (though the pushing phase wasn't too hard b/c they were so tiny) with contractions and everything (I figure these should still feel the same or similar). With the twins I only had morphine and Atavan which did nothing for the pain, but did make me feel loopy! So I figure I've sort of already done it once, so I try to be positive that I can do it again!
*Sorry this was a bit longer than anticipated.
Like other posters have said, the fact that women have been doing this forever and that our bodies are designed for it certainly helps. But the largest help for me are the stories my mom tells me about her natural births and the fact that our hospital is actually natural birth friendly!
Please add me to the list

I need to update my information!
sconklin1982 Due 1/13/13 Team Pink, Delivering at a birthing center with a midwife and doula.
I haven't had any mental waivers yet. I start my birthing class tomorrow which I am really excited about. My only concern is that my baby is currently in a breech position and I just hope she flips herself around!
I remind myself to listen to my body now, not my brain.
Please add me to the list.

When your confidence in yourself and your ability to achieve a natural birth waivers, what do you do to mentally bring yourself back to a positive state of mind?
I remind myself that my body is made to do this, that women have had natural births for thousands of years before me, and that this is the healthiest choice I can make for myself and my son.
