I have only gained maybe 5-6 lbs so far, but look like I gained 15 (at least). I did really great with DS1 so hoping I do this time too, but I think with DS1 I gained about 8-9 lbs at this point.
3 pounds so far. The first tri was horrible so I could barely eat. I'm going into week 17 this coming monday and week 16 was my first week where I felt better and my appetite is back. That being said, I'm starting to get nervous because pre pregnancy I lost 35 pounds and had about 25 more to go to my goal. This pregnancy was a complete surprise and I'm having trouble dealing with the fact that I could gain up to 25 pounds throughout this pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy and I have no idea what to expect about my potential weight gain. But now that I'm feeling better, this will be my first day going back to the gym since July.
I've gained three, but lost three in the first tri, so I'm technically even at this point. My doc wasn't worried at all. I was 510 pounds over the "normal" BMI range to begin with, so I think I just started with some extra fat reserves to pull from. : I'm 17 weeks today.
I've gained about 10-11 pounds! I gained 8 of those pounds by the first 11 weeks because I was so nauseous and inhaling carbs was the only thing that seemed to help. The weight gain seemed to slow way, way down in the last 6 weeks. Guess I'm at the higher side of the spectrum, but the doctor didn't seem worried when I asked about it. I started this pregnancy with my weight at the low end of normal, so I think I'm okay gaining the full 35 lbs or so.

I have gained 8 and I'm 16 weeks. I was a little nervous because at my checkup 4 weeks ago, I had gained 1, so that means 7 lbs in 4 weeks, but my doc wasn't worried either. Her exact words were "finally! You gained some weight!" That made me feel better, but she said I shouldn't do that every 4 weeks, maybe my body just had some making up to do. Have a great weekend everyone! Hard to worry about our weight with all these amazing pumpkin goodies out there right now! Lol
17 weeks and up 4-5 lbs and also feeling like it is a lot more since I'm showing already baby 2 . With DD I was up 10 lbs at 20 weeks so I'm on the same track. I gained a majority of the 35 lbs in the last 12 weeks with my daughter and was barely eating. Your body will gain what it wants so try not to stress. Last time I was worried because I was gaining so little early on and didn't gain anything until 17 weeks but I caught up real fast
I look like I gained 20, but due to 1st tri I still have a net loss of like 11 lbs. I went down about 13 and just went up 2 according to yesterday's appt. I was overweight to begin with, though, so the inability to eat much during first tri definitely had an effect.

Do you mean 4-5 lbs.?
I'm up 13 lbs. It's so hard to watch the scales go up when I had been trying so hard to make them go down.
About 7 lbs so far. I look (and feel) bigger though. Finally time to bust out the elastic waistbands.

I will be 18 weeks tomorrow and I am negative 4 pounds from where I started. I definitely gained much faster with my daughter, but I am starting out heavier this time because I didn't lose the baby weight and only had four months in between pregnancies, so I think that has something to do with it. I am eating plenty healthy foods including a lot of healthy fats like olive oil and avocado, but nothing changes weight wise. The bump is getting huge though and I am very noticeably pregnant!

i was up 3 the first trimester (thanks to carb heavy dinners helping with my "evening "sickness) then a whopping 6 lbs the first month of my 2nd tri for a total of 9...despite a much better diet and still doing cross fit/running 5-6x a week. Sadly, I think I'm just going to gain more weight than I like despite my best intentions. I decided after this week I;m ignoring the scale and not looking when the doctor has me step on it. At this point, I've just accepted the inevitable
Little Riley-our first little girl coming March 1st, 2013 (or sometime around there;)
Went to the doctor Wednesday and I've gained 9 lbs so far. Gained 7 in the first tri, and only 2 lbs in the last 4 weeks. If I let my stomach get empty in the first trimester, that's when I felt like throwing up, so I ate a LOT, and mostly carbs! Tried to get more fruits and veggies this month, but I'm not sure how I only gained 2 lbs, I feel like I eat constantly!

I've gained about 10 as well. Most of that in the first 11 weeks as well. I find out in a couple of days how much more I've gained. I popped out early so I wouldn't be surprised if I gained a little more than average, but I am OK with that.

I'm 17w, and overall I am down 1 lb. I think I lost most in the 1st tri when I had no appetite. Now I am starting to gain, but haven't yet made up the difference. My doc is not concerned, but did suggest trying to eat an extra snack each day.
I'm down about 3lbs still but honestly these posts aren't really helpful to anyone. I feel like they just make women concerned they aren't gaining enough or are gaining too little. Your body does what it needs to do while pregnant and how much weight you gain doesnt really have any bearing on how quickly it will come off after. I have friends who have gained almost 60lbs but lost it really quickly and friends who have gained barely 25lbs but kept that extra weight on for quite some time. I tend to not gain in the beginning (added with usually losing some in 1st tri b/c of m/s) but then gain consistently for the last 6-8 weeks. If your dr's aren't concerned than I wouldn't be concerned. Remember that when "they" say women on average gain 25-35lbs that means that some people gain less and some gain more for that to be the average.
I gained 5 at my last appt. but that was after a food heavy weekend. I have been trying really hard to not overdo it and avoid cookies, ice cream etc. I want to gain about 25 lbs total.
I lost about 20 lbs but gained 2 back in the past few weeks. But No one is the same so it doesn't really matter. I am plus sized, so Midwives only want me to gain 10 lbs, 15 max... I still haven't gotten my appetite back - just trying to eat a balanced diet...
I will be 17 weeks on Tuesday, and I am up around 4 lbs. I only put on about 27 lbs with my first pregnancy, but my job was much more physically active then, so I am trying to really watch my eating/activity this time around.
Wow! I've put on about 15-17 pounds ( depending on the scale) ! I was always so hungry and kept eating, now my appetite is slowing down. I guess we'll see what my dr says next week at my 18 week check up!
Ouch...Im up 30lbs! I am currently 16wks4dys. My Dr hasnt said one bad thing about my gain even though I have brought it up. I was at a healthy weight when I got pregnant(after struggling to lose 35 lbs!) and of course, as soon as I got down to my ideal weight I discovered I was pregnant! I went from 145 at test date to 173 now! I was 197 when I had my son 6 yrs ago and I lost 50lbs in 2 months when he was born. So my main goal is to stay below 200. My wonderful husband says Im adorable so Im dealing with it. But as soon as this little girl is here momma is kicking these pounds!

Me too. I had the same thing - all day morning sickness so bad for the 1st tri, all I could eat was fruit, pizza, crackers and fries. I'm up 10 lbs from my 4 week appointment which was when my OB started tracking weight. I know I gained about 4 lbs between conception and 4 weeks, mostly because I was on vacation. I came back like, man I gained some weight - time to hit the gym and diet.... and then got a BFP. However, at my appointment last week my OB said my weight gain was "perfect" and not to worry about a thing.
I agree with PP - everyone is different and we shouldn't get fixated on how much (or how little) we're gaining as long as we are eating right. It's recommended to work out 30 mins every day, so if you are concerned about gain I would do that but still eat! I couldn't work out due to being sick, which may explain my gain. But I'm not going to try to undo that, just focus on good exercise going forward to stay as fit as possible.
