Drug question

for you ladies who are experienced. is there any other type of drug that is availble during labor other thank you "back" epidural?

    I had Demerol which is administered through your IV.  It is Heaven!

    As PPs have mentioned, there are a wide variety of narcotics available; however, if you are given narcotics within 2 hours of birthing your child, they will be sent to the nursery for observation.  If you're concerned with the epidural, I suggest you speak with your care provider about other options available to you and what he/she recommends.
