Re: Brag Day Wednesday!
For about the last month or so, Chris has been having screaming fits. The slightest frustration would result in screaming - not crying - screaming. The kind you hear in a horror movie. And he would go on for extended periods. It was so loud that one day walking home from work, I could hear him halfway up the block. It was taking a toll on everyone. We were at our wits end.
Then this weekend happened. He would start screaming and then hold his hand (one hand would hold the other) - pretty tightly - and like that he'd walk over to either me or DS and say "want help".
He's now down to a halfhearted wail for a few seconds, then he holds his hand and asks for help.
Malcivar -- wow, that's great progress!
DD1's SLP at preschool sent home a note yesterday that she's answer wh- questions and talking about a book with peers appropriately. Yay!
In general, we've just been having a good time lately. Yesterday afternoon I asked if the girls wanted to take a bike ride or make brownies. DD1 said she wanted to take a bike ride and THEN make brownies, lol. So we did both. She's getting much better at pouring things without spilling, and stirring so that she actually mixes things together.
Over the weekend we went hiking to scope out a place for some upcoming family photos. The trail was pretty steep and rocky, and DD1 was quite a trooper both on the way in and on the way out.

Those are both awesome!
Mine is that my DD gained 4 oz in the last 2 weeks! She was halted at the same weight for 5 weeks, and feeding therapy has helped us make some progress.
Also- last Sat she walked for the first time, and now she is a walking machine!

Wooohoo! I bet you were too.
I think our LOs sometimes surprise themselves and us with their abilities. They work extra hard - because they have to - but sometimes the payoff is better than we could've imagined. My little guy's struggled with running because he was very bow-legged and his feet turn in but with continuing physical therapy, he's actually FASTER than his schoolmates. Some people have even said we should consider track sports for him when he's older.
Maybe you've got a future swim champ on your hands there!
