PUPPs and steroid pills

Hey y'all I posted yesterday about now having PUPPs. Thank you to everyone for their words of wisdom and encouragement!!! I went to my OB today and she gave me oral steroid pills. I'm supposed to take it for 6 days and I take 6 today, 5 tomorrow, 4 Wednesday and so on and so on until only 1 on the 6th day. I am always super cautious and worried about taking meds. Anyone with PUPPs take an oral steroid pack? Was all okay? It's called Methylprednisolone (Medrol) 4mg tabs.

Am I just being a crazy person? I can't imagine my doc giving something that's going to harm the babies.

I took it with my son. I didn't have PUPPS but a bad rash. It saved me!

I am in the same boat right now! I have the same steroid and I'm warring with myself over whether or not to take it! I read the sheet that came with it and it's a class C medicine. My pharmacist had me sign a wavier which makes me even more cautious. My dr called this evening to see how I was and I told her I hadn't taken the medicine yet. She assured me it is safe. Let me know what you decide to do! Right now I'm taking an Aveeno oatmeal bath and I actually feel okay for the moment.

My pharmacist didn't make me sign anything!?! My OB called me tonight as well and I also told her that I was a bit worried. She reassured me and said yes, it is a Class C drug, but because I'm in the 3rd trimester, she was not concerned a bit. She said she wouldn't take it if in the 1st trimester. She made me feel a lot better. I tried the oatmeal bath and although it relieved the itching a bit, it can't survive another 2-3 weeks like this. I'm just in too much misery. I went ahead and took the first days dose. I'm going to put trust in my OB and hopefully get some relief. I itch SO bad!!!!

Are you feeling better yet? I just took my first dose and I'm praying for relief! I hope to get a little rest tonight because it's impossible to sleep!

I think I took the same thing you ladies are talking about, and it did take the edge off somewhat. I remember my OB saying it was safe for 3rd trimester, but not safe for BFing. So should you go into labor in the next few days (sorry, not sure how far along you are, but we all know preterm is something to pay attention to), stop taking it immediately.

I've finished Day 1's Dose and started Day 2 this morning. It actually does feel a little better just with the first dose in me. I'm hopefully this is going to get us feeling much better!!!... and through the last couple weeks! Not too much longer for us.... Keep me posted about you as well. Seems like we are in the exact same boat and both are 35+ weeks as well.

I had PUPPs and I just want to say that I am so sorry you are going through this. I was offered the oral steroid and I did not take it.

Hell yes I took it. I had a steroid shot as well. I was losing my mind with that rash and my OB said it was fine.

Thanks!!! I'm on Day 2 and already feel relief. It's SO much better!!!! There was NO WAY I could have gone 2-3 more weeks with the rash and itching!!!!

I appreciate all y'all's support and recommendations!!!
