DH and I debate about girls names all the time. Right now, I'm loving Dagny. I don't hear it often probably because, like in 2011, only 51 girls were named that. DH prefers Elise.
We will probably use MN Freyja.
And, if sibsets matter to anyone, our son is named Thomas with the intention of using William if we have a second son.
Thoughts on Dagny (without comparing it Elise)? Associations?
Elise or Dagny?
Dagny with Thomas and William?
Re: Dagny
I like Dagny as well, but don't like it as much in the sibset.

This exactly.
Elise tends to be more of MH's preference than mine but I don't have a problem with it.
When I first heard Dagny, I thought it was a bit masculine but the more I say it the more it sounds feminine.
Definitely not an objectivist...and I didn't think about this association. Thanks for the heads-up.
I think the closeness in sound between Daphne and Dagny is why I think Dagny sounds feminine. However, I prefer Elise > Daphne.
As someone else says, Dagny is probably more of a guilty pleasure. Every so often I wish I would have gone with some thing equally unusual for my son so that I could do so for future children.
And thank you everyone for your opinions. I guess DH won this argument.

I'm in the minority here, but I like Dagny, probably because I have a friend named that and it fits her wonderfully. There's nothing un-feminine about her, and the name is unique without being bizarre. She has quite the temper, though, so when she gets upset, we all call her Daggers (she's a good sport about it, and actually enjoys the nickname). I have a feeling you'll have difficulty talking your hubby into it, though, if he prefers Elise (I think the two names have nothing in common).
