Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit

It seems like many of us are going through the same sleepless nights lately due to the "4 Month Wakeful" period. Last night he woke up @ 10:30, 1:30, 3am, and 4:45am UGH! So here is my question:

Anyone tried the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit? Any luck with it? On the one hand, the last thing I need is more baby gear...but on the other hand I will do anything for a decent night's sleep & if this suit helps me accomplish that then it's worth the $40

LO is 4 months old and was swaddled until 2 weeks ago when he started learning to roll. We'd tried swaddle weaning 4 weeks ago and it was a disaster (up every 90 minutes rather than 4-5 hours). The sleep suit seems to work as well as swaddling did, but not any better. But since swaddling worked well for us, I'm good with where we are.

I am waiting for mine to arrive tomorrow. I hope it at least helps. DD woke up at almost the EXACT times as your LO last night.

i am waiting for mine as well. DS has been escaping from the swaddle but I don't think he is ready to be done with it so I hope this helps.

We used the Swaddle strap and it worked great, until he was strong enough to get out of it and then he was MAD. We tried to unswaddle early last week and it was BAD. He was up every 1-2 hours. Back to the swaddle we went, and I ordered the sleep suit on Thursday. Sleep suit came Tuesday and we tried it, he was only up once!!! We have used it the last 3 nights and I will say it is really magic, he falls asleep so fast in it. Only wakes up once about 4am eats and back down.

I know we will have to eventually break this habbit and he will have to learn to sleep without it but I am enjoying my sleep for the time being.

I am thinking about ordering one, so I definitely hope you momma's post whether or not they work.

By the way, have you watched the video for how to put it on? It's totally not cold enough here to put it over footed pj's, but that little girl is just too cute!

Seriously was thinking the same thing! My LO acts goofy like that too But yes I'm in CA and it's been way too hot here for anything under jammies but a diaper!

We've been using the suit for about 6 weeks now. The suit helped my LO transition from his RNP to the crib with ease. The first 3 weeks with the suit were great... We were able to put him in the crib awake and he would put himself to sleep. With the exception of the first night or two it never really got us longer stretches of sleep, but I was thankful to have it to help comfort LO through the crib transition and his 4 month shots. The past 3 weeks have been a different story. I don't know if it's the 4 month wakeful or what but it now takes us hours to get LO to sleep, he's not napping at all during the day, and he wakes every. single. hour. in the MOTN. Last night I pretty much had a nervous breakdown. We are continuing to use the suit because I feel like LO still likes it even though I don't think it's helping much anymore. He just seems very cozy in it, plus we've incorporated it into our bedtime routine so we're keeping it for consistency as well at this point. I will say that I do think it helps muffle the startle reflex, as it says it does. Hope you have luck with it!

I have one and I think it helps.

It isn't going to make your LO magically STTN.

For me, she was rolling over and it helped with my peace of mind.

We got ours about three weeks ago - first night with it, he went from up every two/three hours to up just once. He started sleeping through the night last week, and I really think the suit has helped. Good luck everyone with yours!
