So the babie's r us guide says 4-6. To me that seems a bit excessive. I mean we only have one set of sheets for our bed. (I wash weekly and put them on the bed the same day without issue)
I realize that we do not have accidents or spit up in our bed, so I know we will need more than 1.
What are your thoughts?

For me it is three. One for the crib, one for the washer and one just in case the crib one gets dirty (pee, bottle spill, poo explosion, drool, spit up etc) while the other is getting washed. I am kinda lazy and the amount of days it takes me to get the thing in the wash, in the dryer, and back in DSs room can be anywhere from a few hours to a week lol!
We also send DS to Montessori and they request we bring a crib sheet for his cot so I am back down to two.

This. DS was never much on spitting up or leaking through diapers. We have 2 sheets and 2 waterproof covers. However, I think the 2nd waterproof cover is still in it's original packing. I'd suggest starting with 2-3 sheets and then adding more if needed if you end up with a leaker.

We now have 3 and that's plenty, but we originally had 5 so I waited to make sure we didn't need it and returned them, 3 is plenty!

I agree with everyone else who said 2-3. We had much more than that (more because we ended up getting a lot more than we registered for) and I honestly still have crib sheets in the package that have never been washed or used.
If you do end up in a situation where your baby spits up a lot or something of that nature you could always pick up a few extras later on to have on hand as backups, but I'd only register for 3 max.

Um. 2. I like a back up incase there is throw up at night. That has happened 1 time in 2.5 years. I honestly wash his sheet once a week, and put them back on when the wash is over. I haven't used most of the sheets we have.

I have 2. If there's an accident, I put the other one on the mattress and wash the dirty one.
Or in the middle of the night save it for the morning to wash.
