IP bans are nice and all, but I'm going to guess that the troll wouldn't have been back anyways. Its nasty posts stopped fairly early yesterday after it became pretty clear this board was nearly dead. Makes you wonder if the troll retreated to proboards after it got what it wanted.

Holy crap...what the heck happened here? I haven't been on to check in a while and come back to this. I see that people have left. Sorry if this has already been said, but I am shocked...you all were like a family that I could check in with. I'm sad. I hope that whoever was an a**hole gets theres and everyone eventually meanders back to stay here with us.

That's the thing that gets me the most- we are all (fairly) new moms here, and I'm sure the troll is too- is viciously attacking people online really the way you want to spend your free time?! You'd think there would be better things to do?

I think Letsmove1234 was a troll and not one of "us" and the ae was created to divide the board. If they were one of us why didn't they reveal themselves???
In geeky's defense, I think she meant more that certain people would get butthurt and then the trolls appearednot that people somehow encouraged trolls.

I think that the worst thing is that the trolls were successful. I mean really pals and friends HOW on earth did we let a troll win. regarless of who it was or why it was or why they were such a-holes, they divided us up.

What the troll said on here was wildly inappropriate and hurtful.
I don't know why the troll came to our board. Maybe they were a slighted member, or jealous, or just random and psycho or a member and psycho.
I think some people responded in a way that gained the troll's attention. The others seemed to pop up when the dramaz started. I know that no one deserved the attention of the troll.
But the real sucky thing, is we will never know if the troll was one of 'us'. In my head, the worst case scenario is that a regular poster likes to cause hurt to others. Our true colors appear when there is no way to be held accountable. And that person needs help in a big big way.
In the end, I don't really know you. And you don't know me. And not in a metaphorical 'can you ever really know someone' way. In a real 'I could be a 40 year old dude' way.

I've said it several times before the nasty bully one and the letsmove were one in the same.
I also think it was regular poster who wanted to move off the bump and wanted her friends to follow. Since some wouldn't follow without others then that one person decided to go dirty and then letsmove decided to come out when people were all up in arms.
It's shocking how quickly some moved over right away.
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.

I agree with all of this. and I am sorry so many people got hurt in the process. I tried to report, ignore and block as many as I could.
This is all ridiculous! Why would someone want to divide the board? Who cares? Why would someone troll their friends to get them to move to proboards. Why not just PM them and say "hey, let's go to proboards and get away from these losers" or whatever you think their motive was?
Look, some *** has been trolling the boards, someone else got fed up at the fact the mods and bump gods weren't doing anything and tried to get everyone to move to a different forum. Some of us did, others are too stubborn. I don't know why it has to be any more complex or convoluted than that.

I think calling us stubborn is not fair or accurate. So I didn't follow some random person who is too chickensh*t to admit who they are, to a board that looks like a 5-year-old made it, just because they said so? That board could also have trolls, as everybody knows blocking an IP address doesn't mean anything.
