This might be TMI but it is about these progesterone shots

ok I have been taking these progesterone shots since Sat.  IUI was on Friday.  So anyway I was just wondering a few things.  Is it normal to have giant bruises and pain at the injection site?  Today's shot REALLY hurt after I dethawed from icing it.  Like it still hurts.  And I know that the sore boobs and nausea are from the progesterone but(this is the tmi part)  my urine smells weird.  Like it has smelled weird for a few days.  Did anyone else get this from the Proegesterone?

    I didn't ice. Heat helps. I used my heating pad before and after. And massage a little where you gave your injection.  It still hurt and I had bruises and knots but the few times I didn't use heat it hurt worse.  The urine thing....  I have no idea.  Good Luck!

    Try to avoid icing. Because the oil is so thick, icing the area only makes it harder for it to absorb which can be part of why it hurts so bad. Don't get me wrong, its still going to be sore and bruise but IMO not as bad. 

    As for the weird urine smell, I am also using Crinone as well as PIO and a few days after using that i noticed my urine smelled stronger. Its another form of progesterone so maybe PIO is having the same effect on you?

    I'm doing PIO and suppositories so I'm not sure which is doing it, but yes my urine smells much different and much stronger.

    And heat is the way to go after the shots. Lots of rubbing, lots of heat.

    Same thing PPs have said... heat not ice.  I don't heat the injection site, but I do heat the oil (put it in my bra for a while beforehand!).  Also, make sure you're massaging afterward.

    I hadn't been blaming the PIO on my urine being a bit darker, but now that I hear you say it, I think I may be seeing a bit of the same.  Make sure you're drinking PLENTY of fluids and staying super hydrated.

    Are you using progesterone in Ethyl Oleate? if you sniff the syringe or squirt it on yourself accidentally it smells pretty foul. I can smell the ethyl oleate in my urine after a couple of hours. If its any consolation my nurse said that was normal and I can attest to the fact that the smell fades within a day or so of stopping PIO.
