I'm not even 3rd tri, but we already know a few things about what we want. We're already planning on a drug-free water birth in our birthing center. But when should we have out birth plan prepared? And is it just too early to have one prepared?
I am almost 35 weeks and I am finalizing mine. Honestly, I would go ahead and start on it. Mine has been tweaked a lot (even if just formatting) as I have progressed in my pregnancy. Maybe I am just type A, but I have enjoyed having it on my computer to mold and shape as I go along. I feel like if nothing else, I have learned A LOT and my birth plan really reflects what is important to me in a clear and succinct way.

I didn't have a birth plan with either of my deliveries. They both went well but there were things that I would definitely do differently if I could do it again. I've also learned a lot about typical practices surrounding birth since then and I feel very strongly about creating a birth plan next time. I'm currently TTC and already have a birth plan. I think the sooner you start your research and start thinking about the birth you want, the better.
i'm so terrible, i didn't write mine up until last week or so. ugh, i don't even have my bag packed or the baby's clothes washed... i should really get on that :P
I don't think it's ever too early to start and then tweak as you go. I had mine finalized by 34 weeks. I had the baby in the 36th week so I was glad to have it done a little early. Better to have everything down and ready instead of throwing something together last minute.
