Baby carrier for when seated?

Hi all -- I have a 7 week old and use a Beco Gemini when I carry him. But I'd like something that I can use to carry him when seated. I know that sounds weird, but for when I'm working at my computer or when I go to events (like sporting events or picnics). The Beco Gemini just doesn't work when seated!

Is there a carrier that works well when seated? And works well for a baby this young (I figure when he gets older, he can sit on his own (on my lap or next to me).

Hmm...what part of it isn't working for you when you sit? At home, I'd suggest sitting on an exercise ball because that works better (both for your comfort and to give baby a little bounce which they tend to like). It may be the structured waist is digging when you sit? A wrap or a mei tai or ring sling might work better if that's the case.

I finished the last 10 weeks of my Masters' degree after DS was born. When I needed to work on the computer, I wore him in the Moby. It worked for us. Maybe it would work for you, too.

You might also try buckling the waist of the gemini a bit higher on you and snugging the straps in to see if that helps.

I'd say get a mei tai and sit on an exercise ball.

Any particular mei tai? I wentnto amazon and there are a bunch of different brands and the prices are all over the place!

I love my ring sling! Easy to put on and take off and works great for sitting. My stepsons play sports and I've found the ring sling is great for sitting in the bleachers as well as at home in front of the computer. I found with the wraps I needed half getting dd into it but I can get her in the ring sling without help.

I'm debating between the mei tai, k'an (moby looks too complicated for me), or a ring sling (is maya the best). What do you think woud be the best to sit in? And comfort for walking, too?

My son is currently 7 weeks and about 12 pounds. What would work well for his curren size and moving forward?

I have an Ergo but find it really uncomfortable to sit in. I also have a Maya Wrap RS and think its much more comfortable to sit in, using several different carries. When DD was that little her legs were in and I wore her fairly high so she didn't come down to my waist at all (I'm also have a long torso). I like the Maya because the material is pretty wide, it feels sturdy and also is breathable. Its pretty comfortable as well with the padded shoulder.

I'd skip the k'tan because it's stretchy, and stretchy things tend to work less well once you pass 15 lb.

A babyhawk or freehand mei tai would be good, or a ring sling. Maya is a good brand, but https://www.sleepingbaby.net/ is also well loved and well priced.
