Warning-secure beginnings mattress company

I cannot believe the call I just got of! I bought the breathable secure beginnings mattress (which was $500), due to my baby sleeping face down in her mattress (which thankfully, she now turns her head to the side).
When we got it and assembled and had thought we secured -the bars on the side popped up and closed the mattress like a sandwhich. With that, and the fact we couldnt get it into our crib properly without possible damaging it I decided we needed to return it (which the website reads we can do up to 30 days). It didnt seem safe to me.
I am APPALLED by the way the owner (which was made clear this is a one man show company) handled this. As soon as I told him I needed to return he started YELLING at me, and talking over me. He said that the bars flipping up on the side is a false statement!! Essentially saying I was lying. To diffuse the situation, and not argue with him, I reiterated it also did not fit into our crib properly. He said "you must be a first time mom, your crib clearly is more important than your babies safety with sids!"
He kept going on and on, and continued to yell, and insult me. Its clear to me this company is struggling or he wouldnt be so pissed I was returning the product. I thought this was a reputable company as I read good reviews, but those could of been planted by the company itself.
STAY AWAY from this company.

He said he we could return, but I did read a post on amazon that a woman was told the same and 1.5 months later she hasnt been refunded- and they arent returning her calls.
The good reviews I read on this clearly must be planted by the owner. I still cannot believe the things he was saying to me, and that he was yelling. My nanny even heard him from my phone, thats how loud he was. I was nice as could be when I was attempting to tell him why we needed to return. The insult of saying that I was a first time mother that didnt care about her childs saftey was insane! If anything Im over the top about her safety with the snuza (which I love) and even buying the mattress- but we had saftey concerns because the mattress sandwhiched up and also it didnt fit great in the crib. Unbelievable! I wish I had recorded him!!
I would file a complaint with the BBB.
ETA: You can also file a report about it closing up and not fitting your crib on the CPSC website.
