Thoughts on 2x's a day

Well I know there are lots of questions on having sex EOD verses ED that pop up on here, but what is everyone's thoughts on twice a day, morning and night?

Do the same rules apply if there isn't any known sperm issues it should be okay?

I'm in the more is more camp. But not everyone agrees, though. But, with that being said, DH and I rarely can twice a day. At least during the week.

If you enjoy it you can certainly do it that much. Personally if I try to hit O-3, O-2, O-1, O and O+1 I am pretty worn out! 5 days in a row is a lot for me and I can't really imagine doing it twice a day for 5 days!

Okay, so a little more to add on. I think I'm paranoid because I got a + opk yesterday and we could not have sex last night so we did this morning. Normally we would have sex tomorrow night, but that seems like a big gap...

Yeah, I couldn't imagine that either!! I was just hoping one day of it thrown in there wouldn't hurt anything.

I think either is fine. I would probably wait until tomorrow morning.

If you have the stamina there shouldn't be any harm. It would get very tiresome, though. I say, have sex whenever you feel like it outside of your fertile window. Then during your FW, you can double up the sexy time.

Who cares- it's fun! I will say that when we got pg with #1, we had been doing EOD to Every day for 5 or 6 months, and the month we conceived we were on a "second honeymoon" trip and were doing 1-3x per day all week, and it worked! Of course, it was also likely th relaxation of the vacation and the fact that we had nothing else to do all day

I thought I was going to O Friday or Saturday and we had sex Friday night. But then it looked more like Sunday, so we squeezed one in Saturday afternoon, 18 hrs later. I'll let you know if it worked ;

I've heard that it takes between 12 and 24 hours for a man's sperm to replenish, so you're right on the cusp of reducing his sperm count if you do it every 12 hours. That said, it only takes one sperm and I have heard about couples who do it every 12 hours...you can look at the galleries on FF to see people who had sex twice a day and got pregnant. My guess is it probably won't have an impact on your chances either way.

We've tried twice a day, every day, every other day... nothing has seemed to do the trick just yet. I think there are many other forces at work than just how often you do it, so I don't think it really matters. I think EOD puts an emphasis on "quality" over "quantity" Smile
