1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? Ages? International / Russia / 2 yo boy
2) In what phase of the process are you? Preparing for our second of three trips (and our court date!) in early October
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate? Mostly just more paperwork and waiting this week, but every day is one date closer to our court date and that feels great (and a little bit terrifying). :-)
4) How are you feeling this week? So, so, so ready to get our court hearing done and breathe that deep happy breath of relief. And then of course let myself get excited about bringing him home!
5) QOTW: Share your favorite adoption quote or poem. I don't have any super profound ones (which is why I asked!) but I do like Oprah Winfrey's quote, "Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother."TTC September 2010 thru October 2011

1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? Ages? : We are pursuing domestic infant adoption
2) In what phase of the process are you? : We are saving money, planning to submit our application to the agency in January!
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate?: Not really
4) How are you feeling this week?: Lately I've been feeling a little impatient and jealous of those who already have their LOs or are pregnant, but I keep reminding myself that God will bring us OUR baby in the right time.
5) QOTW: Share your favorite adoption quote or poem.: This isn't strictly adoption-related, but it's my favorite passage relating to our IF/Adoption:
He settles the childless woman in her homeas a happy mother of children. - Psalm 113:9
Love that!

1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? Ages?
Foster-to-adopt, 0-3 or so
2) In what phase of the process are you?
Reading, researching, building our savings up, we have a mental "start date" of June 2013 when DS turns 2 but we're starting to think about moving that up.
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate?
I read "Three Little Words" by Ashley Rhodes-Courter. It's a first person book written by a former foster child that was adopted as a pre-teen. I highly recommend, it's pretty disturbing though but it really opens your eyes to the abuse that some kids go through at home and unfortunately sometimes in foster care.
4) How are you feeling this week?
Not adoption related, but not great I have some kind of bug and I think DS has it too
5) QOTW: Share your favorite adoption quote or poem.
I promise you kid I'll give so much more than I get, I just haven't met you yet - totally cliche I know it's from the Michael Buble song but I always listen to the Smash version with Nick Jonas
1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? Ages? Domestic Infant
2) In what phase of the process are you? Matched, waiting for the BM to go into labor any day now!
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate? Nothing new since last week.
4) How are you feeling this week? I am feeling incredibly anxious and manic. I can't stand not knowing when BM is going to call us, I think about where we'll be, what we'll be in the middle of. It's just so crazy. And I'm also very frustrated that BF still hasn't gotten us his address so my attorney can finish his consent paperwork.
5) QOTW: Share your favorite adoption quote or poem.
I'm not sure if it's a quote, but I love the saying on the t-shirt I saw on this board, "Superman was adopted"

June 2012-Decided to give up TTC and started the process to adopt from foster care!
Aspiring SMBC Blog
1) What kind of adoption/fostering are you doing? Ages?
Domestic infant adoption
2) In what phase of the process are you? Birthmom is due mid-december
3) Any recent accomplishments or milestones to celebrate? Not sure this is an accomplishment but our BM basically "fired" our lawyer. We had to find a new "local" one for her to talk to because she and BF have decided that do not trust the lawyer that they originally contacted. It's was an interesting week and although I fully support the BP (our lawyer was a complete ditz on some things) I hope there are no issues with the new one we provided them with.
4) How are you feeling this week? Starting to get excited. Less than 100 days until we get to meet our LO.
5) QOTW: Share your favorite adoption quote or poem.
Adoption comes from the heart, but the adoption process comes from the Law.
You should follow your heart, but be sure you also follow the law.
