Weird and scary recurring pregnancy dreams!! :(

So since the beginning of my pregnancy I have been having these horrible dreams (or nightmares i should say) about my DH cheating on me, and for the past 2 nights I've had the same dream back to back. I have told my DH about the dreams and he swears he is not up to anything and i believe him but then why the same dream over and over? Is anyone else having bad recurrent dreams??

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my baby boy Marcus!

  • I think thats just your hormones talking. Your body is going through alot of changes and you might be feeling insecure. I'm sure he is not cheating on you and im sure he is telling you the truth. I have cheating dreams too, but mostly i'm cheating on my husband in my dreams, but in my awake life, there is no way i would ever kiss or hold anyone else's hand or even think about cheating on him.

  • I'm not a psychologist by any means but I'll give it a shot!  Some women swear that they have dreams about their husband cheating and it's because it's true, but I disagree (maybe it happens sometimes but that's not always what it means).  Have you been feeling less confident in yourself or self-conscious?  Worried about feeling less sexy or weight gain during pregnancy?  If so, it could just be fears coming out in your dreams that your H is cheating on you with some hot chica.  Is it always the exact same dream?  Is he always cheating with the same pesron & is it someone you know?  Your brain could be choosing a person that your H has interacted with not even in a flirty way but just a friendly way, and you either witnessed this or he told you about it.  Brains are really f'd up that way.  I wouldn't worry that he's actually cheating on you unless you have more solid evidence than the dreams.

My dreams are always very strange and sometimes very scary, but I never tend to have the same one twice.  The only one I've experienced often (even before being PG) was where my DH dies.  I read in a book that your brain does this when you are feeling resentful towards DH from a fight or something stupid he did.  Brains take everything to the extreme.

I hope they stop, they definitely aren't fun!!

  • The dream always has to do with the same thing which is him cheating but its not always with the same person, each time is someone new and is with girls i know but that he doesnt know. Crazy i know!! I do feel less sexy and less attractive now that Im starting to show and my regular clothes dont fit anymore so I guess what you are saying does make a lot of sense. I just dont like the fact that I keep having them over and over for the last 5 months. Its not a good feeling and it makes me feel so bad!!!

  • For the last two nights I've had dreams of family members being killed, my father and my favorite aunt. They are terrifying, and it's even worse that these two dreams happened two consecutive nights! I have never in my life had such violent dreams and I don't even watch horror movies/shows, not because they are scary but because I think they are dumb. I just really hope these nightmares stop soon!

  • I have bad dreams almost night right now. Last nights is still stuck with me (I was just talking to my husband about it!)

It is weird and scary. We were having a picnic on a roof (dunno) and there was a big white truck up there too (dunno). We let our son sit on top of the truck (dunno why), and then it drove off the side of the building. I jumped after it. The truck was on the ground, on the roof and I was looking everywhere for my son and couldn't find him. I assumed in my dream he was dead and still couldn't find his body.

    Terrible.

  • try and remember the little details of the dream, who was there, where you were, how somethings happened. i get crazzzzyyyyyyy dreams on and off, and will have the exact same dream over and over. after analyzing my own dreams i actually was able to figure out where it was coming from. they just come from fears or stress you may have in your life. looking at the bigger picture of them might help you see the relationship to your life and why your having them!
  • I almost cried just reading this! I would not be able to imagine something like that happening and Im very glad it was just a horrible nightmare. Before getting pregnant I would hear about women having weird dreams during the pregnancy but I had no idea how often and crazy they happen. I hate the feeling the morning after I wake up from a crazy dream night like that.

  • Yes they are horrible and it makes me feel unattractive and very insecured. I dont want to become paranoid over this and stress out myself and the baby but now I find myself questioning everything he does and I hate it :(

  • I've been having scary and very realistic dreams of someone breaking into our house and holding us at gunpoint.

I think there's something about these preggo hormones that makes us feel insecure or paranoid? I'm not a scientist or anything but that seems to be the case with me and my other preggo buddy!
