Heres my story:
I had a vaginal birth with my first pregnancy. I went into labor at 38wks 1 day.
This time around my back dr is recommending that I have a CS because I've been diagnosed with grade 4 spondylolthesis.
Anyway, just trying to get an idea. Will my OB want me to schedule my CS at about 38wks? Or will they let me go into labor on my own and then just give me a CS? I am going to talk to my dr about this obviously, but my next appt isnt for another 3wks so I was just trying to get an idea! TIA!!
Re: When would I schedule my CS?
This. Unless it is medically necessary to have a c/s before 39w or you go into labor they wont do it before then. Also, if you are having a planned c/s most doctors do not want you to go into labor on your own.
If your doc doesn't want you to labor at ALL then he may be able to do it at 38wks. It depends on the insurance sometimes. If your insurance recommends 39wks then your doc may have to get special approval from the ins company for it.
Mine wouldn't allow it before 39wks so mine is for 39wks on the day. I'm fine with that b/c the longer he's in there the better and I don't have any issues other than my first was an emergency due to a failed induction so it's just a RCS.
