NTTCALR: Men and saying "I'm not falling asleep"

Does anyone else's DH do this? He lays on the couch. You say it's only a matter of time. And he DENIES that he's going to fall asleep. Seconds, and I mean seconds later, zzz...zzz...zzz...zzz...

Why can guys fall asleep anywhere at anytime and women are just up and on the go until they crash?

Re: NTTCALR: Men and saying "I'm not falling asleep"

  • My DH crashes within 5 minutes of lying down on the couch.  He often says "No, I'm not gonna fall asleep" right before he does.

  • OMG I could have wrote this myself! My DH has a big man's recliner and when he puts it back and puts something on tv 9 times out of 10 he will be asleep in minutes. When I say "You're gonna fall asleep" or "Wake up" He says he wasn't sleeping, he was thinking.

OK, I confess that in our marriage, I am totally the one that does this. In my defense, I have an exhausting job. Stick out tongue

Me too!! If it takes more than 5 minutes for me to fall asleep I'm having issues!

  • My DH doesn't fall asleep on the couch, I do that I have to admit, but he can certainly can fall asleep on a 20 minute drive home-with snoring and all!

  • DH does that...but he doesn't even need to be on the couch. He could fall asleep on a concrete slab. If he's not mobile at the end of the day, he tends to just fall asleep real quick.

Same here. Poor DH - He has learned that if he asks, "Are you asleep?" I will wake up long enough to say, "No," then pass out again. He's had whole conversations with me that way (and I've missed entire TV shows...)

Yes!  Me too!  But DH is worse.  He actually gets mad now when I tell him he was sleeping and he says no.  Um, you were snoring.  Loudly.  I'm not crazy.  But whatever, hang out here on the couch if you want.  My ass is going to bed.

    PAIF/SAIF, PGAL/PAL welcome.

  • It's like you read my mind! FI alwaysalwaysalways falls asleep on the couch. He will deny that he's falling asleep until he's literally sleeping.
