Aidan Wilhelm made his grand debut yesterday at 4.02pm via emergency c/s. No VBAC for this mama. Apparently, my body doesn't do dilation and my babies' hearts don't do contractions. I went into labour around 4am, got to 3min apart by 9am, went to the hospital at 1pm - and after some dicking around in triage they finally got me on monitors and once that happened all hell broke loose and they started prepping me.
Never even saw a delivery room. Oh well, I can live with this.
Aidan looks just like his big brother did. At 7lbs7oz he is an oz lighter and he seems a bit more delicate, but other than that.....just like Alastair. He latched well, we got skin on skin right out of he OR and I have even managed to latch and rematch with no help. Now he has been sleeping for nearly three hours. My milk is not in yet, but that's no surprise.
I lost a bunch of blood and have a fever now, but I do feel ok over all. I am totally in love with my little man. Totally worth it.I sent DH home to take care of Alastair and let he ILs sleep in their own house. He'll spent the day and night tomorrow - once they make me get up, when I will actually need him.
He was great once I had refreshed his memory on labour - the time before will be told on Tuesday. He is so in love too, though.
Well, photos to come. And whoever wants to hare bfing tricks, especially after c/s....spill it!
Re: I am a mom of two!
Congratulations Nita!! I want pictures.
Just nurse as often as you can for the milk. I think it took about five days for mine to come in.
So happy for you and your family. Love to you all.
The advice I would give is don't give up. It took my milk 2 weeks to fully come in but I gave her whatever I could and supplemented with formula. Side nursing and using the boppy helped alot because of the incision. Football hold works too but didn't seem too comfortable for both of us.
Congrats again and the same to little brother.

Others have given you solid advice. I just wanted to say I know how much you want to make bf'ing work this time, and that you CAN do it! Remember to go by diaper output to determine that he's getting enough and weight gain obviously, but many babies lose up to a pound before they start gaining back, and to NOT think automatically that history is repeating itself and it's not going to work out if he loses weight the first week or two.

Oh, Nita! I'm so happy for you and your family. Congratulations on your sweet little man.
As others have said, nurse often. I credit a lot of our success to my DH, actually. He was a huge source of encouragement and even set alarms and sat up with us in the night for the first week or two. With support from your family and a lot of boob time, I'm sure things will work out for you this time. Best of luck!
Wahoo! Congratulations, Nita, that's so wonderful! I was pretty sure you had to be in labour when there were no posts from you yesterday, so I was thinking of you and hoping for the best. I'm sorry you didn't get your VBAC, but so glad you've got your beautiful second son and that he's latching well. That's such fantastic news! Can't wait to see photos! Now make sure you rest and recover well, and soak up every precious second with your beautiful family!

Congratulations! I can't believe an October mom has a new baby already! Sorry you didn't get your VBAC like you wanted, but in the end all that matters is a healthy mom and baby.
I agree with all the PPs to just BF as often as possible. My milk took almost a week to come in. I was stressed that he wasn't getting enough to eat and I think the stress caused it to take longer. And definitely go see an LC if you are have any trouble. They were a great help to me.
Can't wait to see pictures!
All of this. It took several days for my milk to come in.
