Hello Ladies...this is my first post. I am not hip to all the abbreviations yet but here we go...
I'm 32 and my husband is 37, we married in Jan 2011. My DH and I have been trying to conceive since the beginning of this year. We started our first round of clomid 5mg in March and our second round in May with no ovulation through my OBGYN. We decide not to continue with the 3 round of clomid since we were not being monitored and it didn?t seem to work. Plus I had read all the side effects and didn?t want to cause anymore ?damage?.
I set up and appointment to meet with a RE at the end of June 2012. Since starting with our RE we have learned that I have PCOS and IR, my DH has a low sperm count, I have very low vitamin D (taking 50,000 units once a week) and my progesterone is low. I started Metformin 500mg (3 a day) after my first appointment with the RE. I had the AMH test a scored a 15.5 which was pleasing to my RE. We just tested my progesterone levels Wednesday to see if I ovulated on my own but again it was low.
Now we are set to start Provera today (10 mg for 10 days) to start a cycle so we can do our first IUI. On day 3 of my next cycle I will start Femara and Ovidrel trigger shot when told.
Have any of you had any success with a similar situation and prescriptions?
Re: Femara+Ovidrel+IUI
You'll find a lot of ladies on here who have PCOS and got their BFPs w/a combo of oral and injects. It sounds like you're in the hands of a good RE, but just know that it often takes a few cycles for your doc to figure out what the perfect combo of drugs is and timing.
This is how I got my BFP - good luck on your cycle!
