So, Lou has been in his crib for a few weeks. He does pretty good, and we put him down drowsy but awake and can fall asleep on his own. However, i feel like for naps there is no way this is happening. He gets fussy and needs to be rocked and swaddled or put in the swing. At night now, we transitioned out of the sleep suit to the sleep sack no problem. What gives?
Re: Suggestions for crib naps.
In Weissbluth's book re: sleep training, he says that babies process daytime and nighttime sleep differently. I've definitely noticed the same thing.
We started doing CIO for nighttime a few weeks ago, we put him down awake and he falls asleep on his own without a fuss. Daytime naps are totally different. He needs to be rocked and if we try putting him down awake he freaks out.
I think we may have to do nap training soon. Seems like that may be the best answer.
