Yesterday, I had my first ultrasound with my new OB. We saw a perfectly sized baby with a strong heart beat of 177. It was such a relief until she looked at my left ovary/ tube. I had felt a little fleeting pain there a couple days ago but I wrote it off to stretching/ bloating. Turns out I had an ectopic pregnancy as well as a healthy pregnancy. Chances of this happening are 1 in 30,000. I was in surgery immediately to remove my left tube and they can make no promises on what will happen with the healthy pregnancy because surgery is such a trauma to the body. I am hoping this baby is a fighter. I have a follow up ultrasound on Tuesday to see if the baby is still thriving. This is going to be a long weekend.
