Babies: 3 - 6 Months

how long before crawling?

my 5mo dd has been up on all fours for apx. 2 weeks now, she rocks front to back and has her version of the army crawl down pretty good...we weren't expecting this to happen for a few more months at least...  She can get to places she wants to go with little effort. We've still got a little baby proofing to do but have the majority done. My question is when will she start to go fully mobile aprox. I know every babies different but I'm a ftm and was wondering what to expect... She is so frustrated she can't get the coordination with arms and legs, she practices all the time, its to the point that she fights sleep cause she's just goes up to all fours as soon as you put her down. I caught her doing it in a dead sleep the other night, the problem is she nose dives and bumps her face and wakes up... Which then turns into fighting to go to sleep again, lol. TIA ;-)

Re: how long before crawling?

  • I don't know, my LO.does the same thing!I think she will figure it out any day now though, she has been making huge strides towards crawling every day. I read in my baby book that I was crawling at 5 1/2 months, so it shouldn't be long.
